Tastes Better Than Expected
Normally protein bars do not taste very good, or have an extremely fake taste, especially when they're reduced/low sugar. This Lemon Poppy Seed bar didn't! The flavor was really good, with just a hint of lemon and the poppy seed gave it some texture. I ate this after working out, and it fills you up surprisingly well. I'd buy these again to have on hand for workouts! If you've tried the regular Power Bars and didn't care for them, maybe give this one a chance!
I've had better!
I tried this flavor as well as the peanut butter one. This one you could taste the protein more than the peanut butter one. I'm not an avid protein bar eater but I have tired several and this isn't one of my favourite. I noticed it leaves a film in your mouth, definitely have water near by.
Love the Lemon!
It's a tough choice - but if I had to pick between the Power Bar Protein Chocolate and Peanut Butter and the Lemon Poppy Seed - The Poppy Seed comes out on top! Convenient, low sugar and gluten free - packed with protein too! These bars satisfy my tummy and taste amazing. So easy to grab and go. These are going on the grocery list for sure!
Yummy, and filling....
Again, I would usually taste this with hesitation thinking that the whey protein is going to make taste grainy, but it does not. It has a nice very lemony taste, not hard to eat the whole bar, and you can use as a meal replacement as it is very filling and keeps you full for a long time.
PowerBar Lemon Poppy Seed
I actually really liked the taste of this lemon poppy seed bar. It was a good flavor and I would eat it wanting more. The only thing I didn't like about this is that it had a strange aftertaste of the sucralose. I really am not a fan of things that are sweetened with sucralose and because of the aftertaste I would probably would not buy it. The texture was sort of chewy like a soft cookie but a bit more dense. I would really like this bar and would replace my usual granola bars if sucralose was not an ingredient.
Did not like it!
I was hoping this would be a tasty bar but alas the PowerBar ProteinPlus Reduced Sugar Lemon Poppy Seed disappointed me. I found the bar chalky and unappetizing. It was like trying to swallow a mouth full of just protein powder. Sorry not for me.
A fun new flavour for PowerBar!
Thanks to ChickAdvisor, I got to try this product for free! Thanks ChickAdvisor!
I've never had a flavour like this one for a meal replacement bar, but I love it! It's a nice change from the usual chocolate and peanut butter bars. They are loaded with good nutrients and is the perfect post-workout snack; especially if you have been lifting weights as it has a lot of good protein to help your muscles recover quicker. Plus all the vitamins and minerals it has are always good to get in your body. I love it after the gym and intend to buy some more!
Bar is as advertised
I received two flavors of PowerBar ProteinPlus bars to try from Chickadvisor to try for free.
I was excited to try this new bar as job is very physical and I do require nutrition in a quick format at times. This bar does appear to pack a good punch as far as nutrients and such go. The taste however was not as I expected. I found the lemon poppyseed refreshing for the first bite then almost sour after that. Although the bar did the trick I found the texture to be a huge downfall for me. I would love to see something added to the middle of the bar to make it not so powdery tasting.
All in all the bar did what it claimed to do.
A nice change of pace in the flavour department.
When I received the lemon poppy seed protein power bar, it was a nice change to see a citrus based flavour. I love lemon and this bar didn't disappoint! It was a great tasting bar, not too sweet and not too lemon that it was over powering. Too often we tend to go for the chocolate based bars to get a bit of our sweet tooth fix but this flavour was great for getting rid of my afternoon cravings! And it gave me the energy and feeling of fullness that i need to get through the afternoon! I will admit, my son preferred the peanut butter flavoured reduced sugar protein bar but I thought the lemon poppy seed one was a nice change, especially for a citrus lover!
Not for me
I did not like the lemon flavour. Found it to be extremely strong tasting and mixed with the texture of the bar, I was unable to finish eating it. I got this product for free through ChickAdvisor for my honest opinion.
