I received this product as part of the chickadvisor product review club. I'm a vegetarian so often rely on protein bars to ensure that I get enough protein. I've tried a number of protein bars and found that some either have a horrible texture or leave a 'chalky' horrible after taste in your mouth afterwards. This bar has neither! I really like the texture- it's soft but not too chewy. I find it's a little too sweet than I would prefer, but you definitely can't complain about the low sugar content. Some protein bars can have sugar content equivalent to chocolate bars which is crazy. Out of the two bars, I preferred the peanut butter flavour, however I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has a sweet tooth!

PowerBar ProteinPlus Reduced Sugar in Lemon Poppy Seed has a nice lemon flavor that isn't too sweet or weird tasting. It has a nice texture and it doesn't taste dry at all. I love how subtle the flavor is such that I am not too overwhelmed with lemon with every bite. #gotitfree from ChickAdvisor.

Thanks to Chick advisor I was able to try the PowerBar ProteinPlus Lemon Poppy Seed for free. The chalky taste that I was expecting was not to be. When I checked out the nutritional information on the bars I was pleased with what I read.

The smell was very appetizing. It is very delicious. No grainy taste, was very smooth. There was no lingering after taste like a lot of protein bars.

For reduced sugar this is soooo sweet. I hate how everyone assumes things are just better sweet. It would be better with more lemon and more seeds. It would also be healthy for you too.

This bar tastes like a lemon poppy muffin! It's still a tad too sweet for me, but it's quite tasty. I like that the bar isn't too chewy and sticky or too chalky. Texture is good and it's also light. I would prefer to have this one after a workout the the creamy peanut butter flavour because it's much lighter.

My brothers order all types of protein products, and they loved these. The taste was amazing, even the smell when you open it is delightful. Something that will definitely be purchased again and highly recommend.

Took the two bars with me to my friends place, my mother and another friend where there and I asked if they'd like to taste test it, my mother was excited to try it she loves lemon, we liked the tast and textur, lemon was not too strong, I myself was surprised as I do NOT enjoy most lemon flavoured things (except pink lemonade, won't even use lemon cleaners) and I didn't find this unappealing if I went to someone's and they offered me one I'd eat it, also we didn't find it had an after taste. Everyone would buy it and recommend it to others

I received two bars of PowerBar ProteinPlus Reduced Sugar Lemon Poppy Seed free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. Unfortunately, the taste of this flavour leaves a lot to be desired. You can't argue with the value of the 20g of protein in each bar, but the bar itself has a very soft consistency and leaves a chalky taste in your mouth. I did notice that throughout the afternoon I had more energy, which is why I am still recommending it and rating it highly for nutrition and value. I am looking forward to trying the peanut butter flavour and any other flavours PowerBar will come out with. Eating things with lower sugar content is important to me, so it's possible I could get used to the consistency, feel, and after taste because of its nutritional value. I will recommend to friends and family, and will consider purchasing other flavours because there aren't many protein bars that come close to containing the whopping 20g that these do. I am interested to see what other people think because I normally love the lemon poppy seed flavour in loaves and muffins, but found the chalky texture a bit much to bear.

Ahhhh! I just received the poppyseed powerbar from chickadvisor review club and I'm not disappointed!! It tastes amazing . I decided to try mine in the morning since I didn't have time to make anything before work, it filled me up right away. It satisfied my hunger and I felt full right away, also gave me tons of energy while I was at work. I can't wait to try the other flavours they offer soon!
