I use the unflavored PC Protein Powder
I add 1 tsp of Carnation SImply hot chocolate mix to the unflavored PC protein powder to give it a nice flavor while adding only minimal calories, sugars and carbs. I find this an excellent alternative to the other brands as this uses the fewest and simplest ingredients.
high source of protein
I purchased this whey protein isolate protein powder mainly because it comes with a money back guarantee. I usually mix it with cold bottled water, and sometimes have to shake it a few times while I am sipping on it in order to avoid getting little chunks. I find that it does not have a strong chocolate taste. I have tried adding a packet of artificial sweetener and it has helped to make this protein powder better tasting. This morning I mixed this chocolate whey protein isolate with a packet of instant French vanilla coffee and it resulted in a delicious cold coffee.
A FEW NUTRITION FACTS:
- 110 calories per scoop
- 25 grams of protein
- 1 gram of sugar
Just OK. Mixes badly.
This product tastes ok, if a bit bland. I found myself supplementing with a little hot chocolate powder so that it tasted better.
Because PC is a trustworthy brand I am sure the protein quality is fine (not that I am an expert on this stuff), but the big problem I have with this powder is that it mixes terribly! No matter how hard I shake and mix I end up with chewy protein powder clumps. I shouldn't have to get out a blender for a protein powder -- it misses the point of convenience.
The other thing is that the scoop is big, so the package doesn't last very long. I think the value could be better.
In summary: If you are using this to add to smoothies in a blender this is probably fine, but I think you'll get better blending and value from other brands.
