50% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I bought this hoping to clear up my skin. Instead I ended up getting burns all over my face for weeks! That kit stung when I applied it & it made my face so unbelievably itchy, flakey, and bright red. I felt so hot on my face I had to ice my face just to feel comfortable. I was only using 1 very gentle application per day and I only used a little of the product. I stuck it out in pain for 2 weeks but the feel and look of my red flakey skin only got worse and my acne stayed the same. Even after telling the company about my reaction they refused to cancel my next automatic order and sent me more crap that I will never use. They have bad products and terrible 'customer service'
I bought this kit because of all the advertising...it dried out my face, bleached out my towels and didn't work!
Would not recommend this at all. Used it for close to 2 months and made my skin much worse. Extremely harsh for those with sensitive skin.
Perhaps it works for others, but this just exasperated my issues in a terrible way.
I don't want to rate this too poorly, because even though I don't like it I still think it could work for others.
I used Proactiv for the past year, because I've been getting way more breakouts than usual. At first, it seemed to clear my skin up, but at the same time it felt really harsh. My skin looked red and irritated, and I started getting dry patches in areas like my nose, eyebrows and chin. I thought maybe I needed to only use it once a day, or once every other day, so I tried that, and it felt a bit better on my skin but didn't help as much with blemishes!
Once summer came around it seemed like the Proactiv products didn't feel so irritating, and I started using it twice every day again, even though it wasn't really giving me clearer skin. But now that the seasons are changing back to cooler weather, my skin is starting to feel so dry every time I use this stuff. SO I've finally decided to stop using it all together - after a year of results that just aren't very good, I think I've given these products a fair trial and they definitely aren't for me.
One thing that I know Proactiv needs to work on is their call centres and customer service. I've had such a hard time trying to get ahold of customer service to access my online account (which they told me is sketchy, and to just keep trying and eventually it MIGHT work), as well as trying to cancel my subscription (I was on the phone with 2 different reps, who said they were working on cancelling my orders, when I was put on hold again and then told to leave my name and number and they would call me back within 24 hours, which they haven't!). It definitely isn't the best service around.
Overall, I suggest trying Proactiv if you are having a hard time finding something for your skin, but I would probably just buy it from a kiosk instead of ordering it.
Maybe for some people it works, but I didn't see any positive results. I was told that it would be very useful for me to use because I have very oily skin, so it wont be as drying as it is on most people. WRONG! I think it sucked out over single little micro-drop of oil out of my skin. My skin was peeling and flaking for weeks!! I couldn't even use any makeup because that made the dry skin stand out even more. It was even painful in a way (felt like I had a slight sunburn). I returned it back to the store.
I have had decent skin until last summer when I decided to try a new product which sent my skin into a constant breakout maybe it was a change in hormones coninsidentally at the same time as I have not been able to clear this problem up a year later. I have see people have tremendous results with this product so I decided to give it a shot, it's a cleanser with an exfoliator in it then you tone and then a repairing lotion, this product dried out my skin however did not diminish my blemishes after using this product for a few months I had to consult with my physician and get a pwrsciption.
In short I guess since its not too expensive and ou have a mild case of acne then it's worth a shot however I suggest buying it from a booth at the mall otherwise you will keep receiving it in the mail and end up with a few month supply.
I have tried Proactiv twice now and I found that it did not work well for me. It didn't clear up my acne and after I stopped using it my face broke out worse then ever. I will not use Proactiv ever again.
I do not have bad acne but i do suffer from the odd zit after using this stuff religiously for 3 months i did not find it made a difference. I definitley to not recomend it
