My review
I have been on proactive for a while now. I don’t think it’s doing much to my skin. I still have acne. I find it quite expensive as well. PS: don’t use a colourful towel after washing your face with proactive. It bleached a lot of my nice face cloths/towels.
expensive and way too many products
I tried this a few years ago and I hate how there are 7 different products you have to use to get the results you want. It's expensive and I found it didn't help my skin at all
Not for sensitive skin
At first this seemed to really work but after a few months it seemed to start irritating the skin. Redness and burning sensation that resulted in cancelling the subscription. It's very expensive for what you get.
I am happy I stopped using it
Although, the products did get rid of my acne, it caused all sorts of other issues, as well. My skin became super oily, dry and when a zit went away the scarring was pretty bad too. It also bleached everything. I was really scared to stop using it however, now that Ive switched to a Oil "cleanser", that fixes all my skin issues- I am so glad that I did!
This product wasn't for me. It didn't clear my face at all after using it for months. I actually stopped using it because I got a chemical burn on my face, it took a while for it to heal.
There isn't many product out there that I don't like. With Proactiv I had a hard time trying too figure out why it just wouldn't work for my skin. It would immediately burn and dry out my skin so much. After using the face cleanser I immediately had too put some type of lotion on as it tried out my skin so much. The toner was really nice it had a very nice cooling sensation too my skin. I do notice that the lotion really didn't help with my skin and my breakouts when I was in high school. It actually if anything made my skin so much worse. The thing is with acne cleansers it will completely strip out everything in your skin and if you have sensitive skin like mine it made everytime ten times worse for me. The smell was refreshing though. I had zero issues with that. Maybe if they had an option for sensitive skin this probably would have been a way better option for me. I know a lot of celebrities endorse this product and make it sound like the perfect solution too your acne problem but I wasn't a fan of this product. I did find the mask too be pretty nice. It didn't make my skin feel dried out, it did make it feel pretty hydrated.
I bought this at The Bay for $60 the 3 step program.
I used this product a few years ago and it really did work and quickly. It cleared up all my acne, blackheads and any shine on my forehead/chin were gone but it made my skin very dry and irritated. I began to develop very itchy red patches all around my face, primary on my t-zone areas - probably because I really focused on those areas during application.
Every time I would pick at or scratch a patch skin would flake off and there would just be even more dry skin underneath. I went from just having minor acne to having ugly redness and irritated spots allover my face and I think I would have prefered to have the acne. I tried to increase my water intake in order to hydrate my skin and I also applied moisturizer everyday and night and it did not help at all, I had to discontinue use after about two weeks.
The product stops acne and breakouts by literally sucking out any and all oils from your face and you skin NEEDS these oils to maintain proper health and function.
I do not recommend this product, although it will clear your acne and it is quite cheap there are just safer, more moisturizing and safe anti-acne treatments out there that do not typically have any side-effects or irritations.
I used this a few years back to help combat my acne but it did nothing for me but waste my money. I heard so many good reviews and I was so excited to try it. It made my skin really itchy and really red. It dried it out like I hear its supposed to, bit t was unbearable. I have heard success stories so maybe this just wasn't for me.
I have had this and it worked on me. But nothing extra. It only worked like any other product would. It did clear up my face. But it expires really fast. And they keep sending it to you, when you really don't need it. And charging your credit card!
I tried this once because of all those annoying commercials. I figured why not. It burned and dried my face up. I sent it back. Not worth the hype.
