Lacks Flavour
I'm a David's Tea snob, and I find a lot of other teas bland or dry.
I place a teaspoon into my tea pig steeper, and wait a few minutes before steeping is finished.
Then wait for the water to cool.
And then sip - there is a faint sweetness to the tea, but you can definitely taste the black tea within it.
It's not the best vanilla tea I've had, but I am underwhelmed with the taste. It fortunately, doesn't leave a dry aftertaste, making it a good mid-afternoon wake-me up when I don't feel like having one of my sweeter teas.
It's okay, but it's not in my top ten
Finally, a decent loose leaf tea.
I have been looking for a decent loose leaf tea at a good price for a while now. I liked the sample I received (vanilla black tea) and look forward to trying the earl grey version. I don't drink tea very often so I like that this comes in a smaller size, it won't go stale like the large jars do I also think this product would also make brilliant iced tea!
There is something very luxurious about this tea.
I enjoy watching it steep in the steeper, with the little leaves twirling around
The vanilla notes are just right - they add flavor without being too overpowering
I did not like this tea one bit. The smell threw me off. There's no hint of vanilla in to it. or maybe there is that it has overpowered the taste of the tea. The also didn't like the taste of it. It is bitter and as it gets cold, the taste just gets worst. I measured it according to the instructions. 1 tsp to 1 cup of water.
This is definitely not my cup of tea. I felt like wasting money on something I only had once and will never drink again. :(
Tastes amazing! No bitterness what so ever. The loose leaf tea is a good deal, better value than tea bags. This would make a nice iced tea. I drink around 2-4 cups a day.
Loose tea is my absolute favourite! And it is great to be able to grab at the grocery store! Delicious black tea with just enough vanilla, perfection!
I was more than surprised by the size of container that I received to try this tea. After trying it, I would have to say that this is not my favourite tea. I was expecting more of a vanilla taste, however that was not what I got. It tasted more of a slightly sweetened black tea, that tasted bitter as it cooled.
I received this product free to review, opinions are my own.
I have always enjoyed loose leaf tea as I feel you get a better flavour. This tea provides that ability without having to go to a specialty tea store.
The vanilla flavour isn't too strong which is nice. Sometimes I find vanilla flavouring to add too much sweetness to the cup but this was the perfect amount. You could smell it more than you could taste it.
The black tea is strong in flavour and provides a great richness that you would expect from a great cup of black tea.
The containers it comes in is also great, as I'm used to deal with bags that you need to re-seal and that can be tricky, the lids were easy to screw on and off.
I believe I would purchase this again in the future but I would be interested in trying other flavours first.
I'm usually not a tea person, it takes me a while to find one that I really like, and I finally think I found it. I love that it's not too sweat but just enough where adding a teaspoon of honey won't overpower it.
I am always sceptical when it comes to flavored teas - either they are overly flavored, or not enough! Pure Leaf Black Tea with Vanilla offers a nice twist on a classic - it sweetens the tea just a bit so it tastes a bit less "earthy", but you still don't have the impression of drinking a sugary vanilla drink. The vanilla taste is subtle, and although I wish it would be a bit stronger and sweeter, I still appreciate this tea.
