Not a fan of quinoa but lemon dill flavor was good
It's my first time trying quinoa but I wasn't really a fan of the quinoa taste and texture. Nevertheless, I thought the overall Santorini Lemon Dill flavor was pretty good. The lemon dill flavor helped cover up some of the quinoa flavor, but it wasn't too overwhelming altogether. I would recommend eating this in conjunction with chicken or fish as it was too bland on its own, even as a side dish. I appreciated how this product could be quickly served in just 90 seconds using the microwave, which was how I tried mine. There's also quite a lot in one pack and its more than enough for one meal for family of 4.
It was ok
I tried the Pur grains Santorini Lemon Dill with chicken. I didn’t like the lemon dill flavour though. Maybe the other flavours are better, but if I had to choose between this brand or another one I would buy another one.
Pur Grains side dish quick to make and healthy
I tried the Pur grains Santorini Lemon Dill flavour and it was delicious! You can have a healthy side dish in just 90 seconds, that's all it takes to heat it up in the pouch in the microwave. You can also cook it on a stove top as well. Great source of iron and is plant-based ancient grains. This is a savoury side dish you have to try. There are also 2 other flavours I hope to try out. #trypurgrains @purgrains #ProductReviewClub @ChickAdvisor #gotitfree
It Was Okay
I tried this one with salmon and the salmon was lemon pepper flavoured. It didn’t pair well. I found it to be too bland. There was little to no spice. Had a quinoa type taste to it and it didn’t taste like lemon or dill. I was disappointed unfortunately.
It was yummy!
It was very delicious. I don’t usually by buy premade rices. This was good though. It is hard to decide to spend the money on it though when making my own rice mix is cheaper.
Nutritious but falls flat on taste
I prepared my package in the microwave and it cooked great - perfect texture and doneness. I didn’t like the lemon dill flavour though - it was hard to eat because it just wasn’t appetizing. Love the natural ingredients though so I’d probably give one of the other flavours a try to see if they’re better.
PURGRAINS-Pleasantly surprised!
I have been avoiding pre-made sides since they became a thing for many reasons.
The thought that it would only take 90 seconds to have ready for the table wasn’t appealing at all. All I could think was “How many chemicals are keeping this side dish from spoiling?”
The packaging catches your eye, but it doesn’t make you think of a side dish, never mind a healthy or delicious one. The one thing I admire about the packaging is the clear bottom which allowed me to see what was inside. However, what I saw did not look appealing in any way.
After following the instructions to “knead” the package I thought I’d use the microwave as this is supposed to be a speedy side dish. After warming the dish and scooping it out of the package I almost gave up right there. The smell of dill made me press on and try a spoonful as my Greek salad sat close by as my “chaser!” At first bite I thought it didn’t taste as good as it smelled and seemed to have a lingering taste that was nothing like the taste that first hits your taste buds. I admit I had another bite with my salad and they went okay together. I could not finish this side dish because of the dry mushy texture and consistency. Because of all these points, I don’t think I would be tempted to try another flavour.
Quick and tasty sidedish in a pinch
I'm always a sucker for trying out new products at the grocery store that can possibly save me time when I'm off work and on a hangry rampage. I was looking forward to trying the Greek-inspired lemon dill flavour of this new plant-based side dish. The only trick was finding the right main dish to pair this with. I ended up going for a fish-based meal, but this would be just as at home beside souvlaki (to really complete the Greek theme) or any other more "bare" meat entree. This was super easy to prep - we don't have a microwave, so I followed the instructions to heat it up on the stovetop. The pouch is 100% ready to serve, so all you're doing is getting it to your preferred temperature. One thing I have to note, however, is the smell. While I was pouring it out and heating it up, the smell was...not as appetizing as one would hope for something that's about to be consumed. Thankfully, the flavour was totally different from the way it smelled, but it's just an unpleasant part of the process. The flavouring itself was light and not overpowering (could maybe have used more, to be honest), though I don't know if I would describe this as quite as Mediterranean as I was hoping. The texture was nice and soft, and I loved the fact that it was protein-packed (which you don't usually get in a side-dish) and made with all-natural ingredients and supergrains. All in all, I can see this being a convenient item to have stocked in my pantry for emergencies but not necessarily a regular purchase.

Good taste but don’t like smell much
It is very quick in preparation. My baby who is 16 months old really like to eat.Taste is good but small is not very good .The good thing is it is plant based.I will probably buy this again in Futer for my son.
Nice Start but should be improved
I tried the Santorini Lemon Dill flavour and I have mixed feelings. I enjoyed it because it is a mixture of ancient grains, quinoa, farro and brown rice. I like that it is plant based and only takes 90 seconds to heat up in the microwave. On the other hand, I was expecting it to be more flavourful. The flavour could have been stronger. I had to add lemon to it. I also did not like the smell of it while it was being heated. Apart from that, I like that it is nutritious. I had mine with vegetables and Tandoori Chicken. Maybe I will like the other flavours more.
