Quick and easy, but weird texture
I received this for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I like how quick and easy it is to prepare. Less than 2 minutes in the microwave - can't ask for much simpler than that. However, I was not a fan of the texture. I expected it to be more like rice, but it was quite wet and mushy. Maybe will try the stovetop method if I try it again.
Not best in taste but quick to make
Firstly, the ingredients are so good and nutritous and healthy. Packaging is good and easy to open.Taste is strong with a chilli flavor. You need to develop the taste to like it.The best part is easy to make in just like 90 sec on microwave or stove top and therefore can be a quick snack option.I made it on stovetop as instructed. I have different taste and didn't find it very tasty. But definitely one can give it a shot.
It was different. I enjoyed the flavour
It had a pretty good taste and the texture was alright. It was definitely something different then I normally purchase but I would probably try this again. Perhaps in a different flavour 😊
Not the best but edible for a quick side dish
I was really excited to try this product because I use a lot of rice with my meals. So thank you chick advisor and pur grains for the sampling opportunity.
I like the fact it’s made of brown rice and has quinoa added. It’s very easy and convenient to heat up. It actually has a pretty good aroma. However the taste was faint with a little sweetness. Not much garlic or Thai chili flavour. The texture was very mushy and I wasn’t a fan of that, it’s almost like baby food. If it had some texture it might have been alright, with a little more flavour added. I unfortunately would not buy this product. I saw it at Loblaws for 4$ and I don’t think it’s worth that as it’s not enough for two people even as a side dish. Sorry pur grains, I was really hoping this would have been a 5 star!
Fine if you're in a pinch
The taste is okay, slightly that processed taste as to be expected. It clumped up quite a bit but spread across a salad tasted better. One of the items to use when you're grabbing something last minute.
It was ok, but very sticky
I didn't love the flavor but that might just be personal preference for me. The texture was very sticky and was hard to get out of the package. I did make it in the microwave, so I'm not sure if making on the stove would result in a less sticky texture. Otherwise I love the idea of it being a quick and easy meal or side to a meal.
Not the greatest taste
The product is easy to heat up. Taste wise though, it starts great but then I get a bitter aftertaste which is not enjoyable. I used it as a side dish so maybe if I added some meat or other vegetables, it may have tasted better. Not sure. It did have a slight kick to it which was ok.
Not as expected
I did not like the taste may be because the smell of garlic was too strong. I wish that you might like it only if u love the flavour of garlic. Spicy level was good. The grains did not puff up well and i dont like it being soo fat
Purgrains Thai Garlic Chili
I received a sample of purgrains thai garlic chili flavour courtesy of chickadvisor in exchange for my honest and unbiased review #gotitfree.
I love that this product is non-gmo and contains quinoa and brown rice. It is also free of artificial flavours and ready to eat in 90 seconds.
My first taste...I did not like it. It has a very strong tomato base that seems too overpowering. The chili just didn't work at all. I was not impressed with the taste at all.
Not a fan
The Thai Garlic and Chili flavours were overpowered by the taste of the farro. Texture was a little off as well but I feel like I would have been okay with it if the flavour had been there.
