Good but not great
I had the opportunity to try out Pürgrains Thai garlic chilli instant grain mix side dish through Butterly for free. I really did like that it has high fibre and nutrients but however I did not like the texture of the dish. Tastes good with some falt bread. I was not sure how to pair it and had it with regular and flat bread. I may not buy this again but wouldn't stop you if you'd like to try a grainy side dish as it is instant it does saves you from a lot of preparations.
Not my favourite
I was excited to try this product and made it as a side with dinner one night. My husband and I dug in and he finished his but I was not a fan of the texture or spice used in it. He said it was ok but probably wouldn’t run out to buy it.
Ok product
I liked how it’s a very convenient product as it only requires just over a minute to cook in the microwave so it’s great for on the go but the flavour is ok as I didn’t like the soft texture as much. I still would purchase again
Quick but dry
I appreciated that this only took 90 seconds in the microwave to prepare but it was quite dry after heating it up. Instructions only say to add water if preparing it on the stove but I would add the water I was making this again in the microwave. Taste is fine, the spices were quite nice and the grains separated nicely after kneading the package. Nothing too exciting. It definitely needs to be supplemented with some vegetables or protein to help bulk it up.
Not too bad .
Was not a huge fan of this, maybe it was just the flavour I had but I will not be purchasing again. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try , but personally did not enjoy one bit .
Good start!
I received the Thai garlic chili flavour which is made with quinoa, brown rice & farro. I heated mine up in the microwave and then added some cooked shrimp to it to add protein. The texture was great but I found the flavour to be lacking. I think this is a good start to a side dish that you could make better by adding other spices and ingredients too.
Quality was great, taste overwhelming
The product quality was great, but I found the taste too overwhelming. We ate this as a side, but the taste took over the entire meal. That being said, it was easy to prepare and a quick side, the taste just wasn’t right for me and my family.
Quick-fix weeknight meal
These are great if your looking for something quick and convenient. Ready on the stovetop within a few minutes and served as a side with chicken. The taste was okay - nothing special. The portion was also less than I had expected. Would I buy this? Probably not.
Not for us
This is a great idea for a quick side but I found the taste a bit of a miss for us. At first I found it a bit bland but as I continued to eat it I found the chili peppers a touch overwhelming. It has an interesting texture. It was super quick to prepare- heated and placed within 3 minutes. I think heating it in a pan and adding more ingredients would make this more enjoyable.
It's good a quick dinner
I received this product free from ChickAdvisor.
I quite liked this. It was super easy to make as I only put it in the microwave for 1.5 minutes and it came out piping hot. If you're now into using microwaves, it can be cooked in about the same amount of time on the stove. I also like the option of having something that is quick and easy to make. I can see this being a good option for flights attendants or anyone who packs their own food for overnight stays.
The flavour was good and not too salty which can sometimes be the problem with prepackaged food. I would recommend a try.
