Just slightly curious. After finding the mothers of all mascaras, I don't really care that much for growth serums anymore. Maybe as I get older, and therefore wiser, it doesn't make as much sense to put chemicals near my eyeballs. Maybe.
I am still a fan of MultiplEye by tarte. And should I lose any lashes again, I'll pick up a tube. Otherwise, my heart is quite content with what I've got.
Then again, if it's "free", that's another story. I was redeeming my Optimum points at Shopper's in June and decided to get Rapid Lash. I won't go through the technical mumbojumbo since I'm neither equipped to, nor care to. But you can find it here.
I will share my eyeballs with you:
Do you see a difference? I don't see a difference. One last time, just to be sure:
Top - June 3
Bottom - July 4
I'm not angry. I'm over it. But do you know what $70 could have got me? It could have got me two tubes of Majolica and a tube of Benefit. That would have been money well spent. Rapid Lash? That was money wasted.
This one is a little controversial right now... it sits on the edge of pharmaceutical. The active ingredients come from a modified version of glaucoma meds and it acts like a drug in that it actually changes the body's function. In this case it fools your body into growing lashes for a longer cycle. Like every hair, your lashes will eventually fall out and be replaced, but the cycle of growth is extended as long as you continue to use this product.
I was very hesitant to use this because a) price b) some negative reviews c) possibility of irritation or damage to the lashes/ eyes. I did use this...and have been for 3 months now. My lashes are significantly longer and have recently begun to have more curl. I don't think they are very much thicker - but who cares... everyone is noticing and my eyes look great! Its expensive but great value.
I modified the suggested use to once every second night. For the first few applications I had a very 'heavy lid' feeling and mild irritation. This went away after about a week. I was careful not to get this product into my eyes and am very careful in keeping it very sanitary. You just apply a thin line (like an eyeliner - it has one of those brushes) along the base of your lashes at night, once a day. You won't see results for at least 3 weeks... my results took longer at about 5 weeks.
Tips:
- using it once every second night reduces irritation at the beginning and makes the tube last 2x as long, but you wait longer for your results
- I still use mascara, but it looks GREAT
- the product can be used to help grow eyebrows
- this can be used for top and/or bottom lashes
- when you stop using it, the effects will fade and your lashes will return to their natural shorter growth cycles.
It took a few nights for me to get used to putting the product on my lashes properly. Before that I got it into my eye and it stung like nobody's busy.
I had real doubts about this product working but after three weeks I noticed that after putting just one coat of mascara on my lashes that they were longer and I had a great look. That was instead of the usual 4 coats I previously had to put on. The stuff worked for me.
This product guarantees that you'll get longer thicker lashes in 45 days or less. I bought this product with no hopes that it would work. It's very slow process and I didn't really see any results until about day 40-ish. It was amazing, not only did I begin to notice my longer lashes, but my husband and even some close girlfriends did too.
I still wear the mascara with it but it really makes quite a difference not having to use a curler anymore. It didn't irritate my eyes and I would put it on right before going to bed. Highly recommend it!
