This is one of the first foundations I started using while dealing with acne. It is a heavy duty foundation with two formulas, one for normal to dry skin and the other for combination to oily skin. I used the latter. I have 3 bottles of this at home and have only ever been able to use 1. I really wanted to like this, but the closest shade to my skin colour is still too dark for me. When I'm out of my daily foundation and I'm desperate for foundation, I'll mix this with a foundation that is too light for me to try and make it work, but it's not a permanent fix. I think this would be a great foundation during the summer for those living in hot, humid climates, when you really want your makeup to stay. However, because of the thick consistency, sometimes it feels like it's clogging your pores. You definitely notice that you're wearing makeup. This would also be a great foundation for events and/or photography. When I do use it, I tend to use a beauty blender as opposed to my Sigma F80 brush to sheer out the foundation so it's not so cakey.
Coverage: Medium-to-full, can get cakey
Consistency: Thick, making it feel heavy on the skin
Shades: 8 shades in each formula
Finish: ------
SPF: 0, 6, 15
If you're looking for a heavy, long-wearing foundation, this may be for you as long as you find your colour. However, for me, long gone are the days of really heavy makeup. Now, I'm interested in a medium foundation that can even out my skin tone, where I can spot conceal dark spots if need be.
This is my go-to drugstore foundation. This is a medium to full coverage foundation and you can definitely build it up. It covers my blemishes, makes my face look flawless and does not look cakey at all. It also stays on all day. The only downside is that it clings onto my dry patches, so you will definitely need a primer before you apply this foundation if you are dry. In addition, it doesn't have much of a variation in colour so it may be difficult to find your perfect shade.
i really like revlon products. this one is good too. it is very easy to apply and works well on dry skin. the only drawback is that this one does not last 12 hrs.
This foundation is likely the best drugstore one I've used to date. I have acne-prone, oily skin, and in my area this is the only foundation I could find that was created for a specific skin type. Also, this is the only brand of foundation I could find that matches my skin tone exactly. I am very pale-skinned and have to get the lightest shade in this product. I love it because it doesn't oxidize and turn a gross, orange colour. The only issue I have is that the coverage is quite sheer, which means that covering red blemishes requires much layering, which later looks caked. Even adding a primer and lotion prior to applying does not fix this problem. Aside from that, I love this product and would definitely recommend to those with very light skin.
I found under most lighting, my redness was unnoticeable. However, when I was under the bright lights in a shopping mall you could notice I was covering giant red spots on my face. I recommend using a powerful toner before applying this product. I do enjoy the consistency- it is not runny and has a nice finish.
I am talking more about the whipped foundation. I have to say that the packing is not the best since its in a pot form instead of pump. However, this foundation definitely stays on my skin for long period of time. It sits on the skin so nicely. Througout the day it even looks better. its easy to blend with brush or beauty blender. Its medium coverage and you can easily build it up to full coverage. I usually don't use primer and it also fills out pores evenly. I may have had a but difficulty getting color matching because of my yellow undertone but nevertheless my closest colour is rich ginger which is perfect
I enjoy this product! I have been using it for approximately a month now. It has a long lasting finish. It does not feel greasy and it blends easily using a brush or a sponge. I have combination skin but my skin typically feels tighter in the winter. I chose the normal to dry skin option. I do find that I have some shine in the t-zone which is normal for me. Also, my skin feels dry on my cheeks and near my eyes. However, I doubt my foundation is entirely responsible for that. Overall, the product is great. It is the perfect drugstore alternative for me when I don't want to spend the usual $35-$45 on my mac foundation. Revlon Colorstay for the win!!! Also, it mixed well with my other foundation when I was in between shades.
A pretty great foundation I have a hard time finding a good one that matches my skin tone but this brand has the perfect match. Its blends nicely and is sort of matt but not fully. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact its a bit sticky but it does dry... oh and a pump would make it soo much better. over all I love it and would recommend it
I've used this foundation for years as my daily go-to, and I love it. I tend to find it slips a bit in the summer if you have oily skin, but a good setting powder helps. :)
