I've purchased about 7 Revlon Liquid Eye pens in a row. I tried multiple eye liners, however, this has so far been the best as it's easy to draw lines, and it's the brush is the right thickness and hardness.
One of the few liquid liners I actually buy, easy to use, doesn't smudge much and doesn't fade that easily either.
The Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen works great for that nice, bold line on the top lid, and is amazing for the wing. It's got a nice, small point at the end for touch-ups and bends easy for flipping up a wing. Apply eyeshadow first, then the this liquid liner and it pulls the whole look together. I use the 'Blackest Black' color for a dark, bold line. This is my favorite eyeliner and I recommend it to everyone I can!
I think that this is a relatively standard eye pen. I haven't really found any eye pens that do better than this, but I have liquid liners that do a much better job. I really like that this is packaged in a felt tip pen format, as it helps the application process, and makes it pretty easy. That said, I do have liners that have a finer felt tip, and can give a more precise application. I also don't think that this should be in the color stay line, as it isn't very waterproof, and it does smudge a little. While it doesn't smudge as much as other eye pen type products, it smudges more than other liquid liners. I also appreciate that this doesn't stain my eyelids like other products, and that the color is a true coal black, but I do find myself having to go over the initial line to make the line more black.
I also find that this flakes a little bit, especially when you are going over the line.
I was in search of a good eyeliner that doesn't smudge while I have a long shift at work. And I found it completely in Revlon's Colorstay line. My retro look I love stayed on all day without ruining the style I was going for like it usually does. The whole Colorstay line hasn't failed me yet!
it's a good eye liner for beginner, but when you use it more thn 5 or 6 times its like if it just become dirty. so I didnt use it more tha 5 or 6 time.
I'm more used to the older pencils you sharpen for eyeliners but this I found fairly easy to get used to.
I wish I could smudge it, but that would require my being able to follow the pen tip with a smudger in my other hand immediately. I'm not that coordinated. ;)
I also would prefer it be waterproof. I have allergy eyes, so I often wipe the corners of my eyes. I don't want to find black lines on my fingers after I do that because that means I may have to re-apply. I don't want to apply it more than once a day.
Overall though, its a good product. I think the price is a bit steep, but then, I really haven't bothered with makeup for the better part of the last 15 years so I may be a bit out of the loop.
