Some shades are better than others

I bought two of these Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains when they were being discontinued. The packaging is nice although the plastic gets scratched up over time. While one that I bought has a nice smooth texture, the other one seems more watery/separated. I'm also not a fan of the smell, sort of alcohol/paint/glue. Revlon products are usually pretty good but this one was definitely not a favourite of mine.

I used the shade " 040 Shanghai Sizzle.

I wasn't completely in love with this when I first put it on.
The brush felt awkward on my lip and the stain felt like wall paint.
The color is gorgeous though.

It covered most of my lip but the inside kept rubbing off. Once I rubbed it in with my fingers, because lip puckering wasn't working, it was even but the vibrant red lost its shine in the process.

It's been about 3 hours and my lips have faded a lot but the faded color left from the 'stain' is actually still okay, I don't feel like I need to reapply and I'd still pass for someone putting in a little effort. Haha. :)

I always like the idea of a stain, but I never find any that truly stain. Well I like this product! The scent isn't the best, it's not minty, sweet or really chemically… I'm not sure what it is, but it's not strong, The applicator is nice as it's more than just a doe foot, or the "tear shape", it has a pointy tip. I find it odd that this product would have that as it doesn't require the most precise application. When you put the product on your lips it's a paler, creamy color and then it quickly changes to a clearer gel like consistency and it's true color. It's moisturizing and when the "gel" wears off there's a nice, long lasting stain that will last for hours and stay put on my lips.

This product is very good. The color is quite pigmented but because it is just a stain type of lipgloss it does not go on too heavily which is nice. When it goes on it has a different texture than most lipglisses, kind of a mix between watery-oily-glossy. It feels good though and it is good to wear over othe lipsticks or alone. The darker shades though I warn are pretty dark, they seem to look a little darker on me than what they look like in the tube, but that might just be me ;)
