I received this product to test for Revlon Selects. The purple half of this product is great, you only need one coat of the polish and you're set! I will continue to use this half of the Nail Art tube. I was excited about the glitter side after seeing photos online, but those photos were clearly photoshopped. There is barely any glitter in the product, and I tried my hardest to get as much glitter on my nail as I could, but the results looked nothing like any of the pictures I had seen. I was disappointed, I wish there was more glitter in this product, or perhaps glitter in both the purple and the clear, so the results would resemble the pictures.
I really liked this Moon Candy polish. It's available in many different colours.
I first purchased this product after seeing an advertisment in a Fashion magazine, and it looked so cute! I love sparkles, so I was instantly attracted - and just had to try it out. I did a "French Manicure" style on my nails. It was very simple to use, and looked adorable. Although, I had it chipped in about 10 minutes..
I'd definitely recommend this product. Is it long lasting? Not really. But, it's fun, and looks fabulous!
I was apart of the Revlon Selects program and was able to try out some of their awesome nail products! This was one of them. I really liked the idea.. however I'm not sure how I like the look (on myself anyways). For me, it was clumpy and looked a bit "messy" (I like a clean manicured look)... I tried doing a small strip on the nail instead of covering the whole nail and liked that a lot better. There are many things you can do and create with this product.. if you love funky nail designs, you'll love Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy :)
I received the Satellite color for Christmas and I really loved the glitter color combination. The large glitter flakes really shine! Make sure to dab on the glitter and not to brush it on, you will find the result much better as it will leave more glitter on your nails and you won't have to apply a second coat for that same look.
I also found it dried very fast which was great because I usually don't have a lot of time to sit and wait for it to dry. If you apply a top coat, make sure you go slowly and carefully not the remove the top glittery coat.
P.S. It's very easy to remove with your regular nail polish remover.
I love the whole flakie movement, so I when I saw the display, I couldn't resist. Without a word of lie, this is the worst polish I have ever tried in my life.
First of all, even getting the bottle open was a struggle. I had to use pliers.
The purple creme polish looked nice in the bottle, but on my nails was gloomy and blah. The worst shade of purple I own. But I was still hopeful, the flakies still looked promising. But they were even worse. The flakie polish was ridiculously thick and there were hardly any flakies that made it onto my nails, even after I tried fishing them out. Without shaking, there were an obnoxious amount of air bubbles.
No matter how many coats of top coat I used, I couldn't get a smooth finish. The flakies insisted on warping and leaving a jagged edge on top of the nail.
And after all that hard work, the effect was nothing special. I'll be selling my bottle at my garage sale because I would never use this again.
I was lucky enough to receive a free nail polish from the Revlon Select program to sample. Revlon sent me a colour called "Orbit" from their double ended collection called Moon Candy. The polishes contain a dark cream enamel on one end and an iridescent sparkly top coat on the other.
The cream side of this particular duo is a deep purple that glides on smoothly and opaquely in one coat although it doesn't necessarily cover all the imperfections of the nail. The top coat uses shards of a glitter in complimentary shades to overlay. The overall effect is beautiful however with only one coat of enamel, the top coat thins it and can cause patchiness, therefore i recommend 2 coats of the base. Also, the shards are sparse and require more than one application. The irregularity of the size and shape of the glitter can make application somewhat difficult. I think it would be better if they were somewhat smaller. At 1st I was taken aback by the weight of the brush since you are literally wielding another bottle of polish, however I quickly adjusted and had no problems with application.
Overall, I like the effect and think it is pretty good. I would buy others, if the price is right and would recommend this product to someone looking for something a little different :)
