This was the first time I have ever used an eyelash curler. I must say the process was easy and painless. I really liked the LED light as it helped me to see exactly what I was doing and as a novice I really appreciated that feature. I did find the light turned itself off after a minute or so, before I was done using it. I liked the rubber grip of the curler which helped to grasp my lashes. It really helped. I did notice a difference in my lashes after curling them. They were not as straight as they usually are. As a test I curled the lashes of one eye but not the other eye. I then applied mascara to both eyes and asked my sister which eyelashes had been curled. She was able to tell immediately which eyelashes had been curled. I would say that's great evidence of its effectiveness!
I found the handle easy to use (ergomanically so) as I have arthritis in my wrists and haven't been able to use a regular curler for a while. The light is awesome, I can get in nice and close without worrying about stabbing myself in the eye. As a sidenote, we found the light useful to get up close with tweezers to remove a sliver in hubby's hand!
I received my Revlon Spotlight Eyelash Curler and found that it works great. I would recommend it to all my friends.
I found this product good but I would not pay $10 for it. The light is not needed and not useful to me as I always have lights on when applying my makeup. I feel that it is the same as the metal eyelash curlers that I have used in the past and they are much cheaper. Overall, it works but too much money for what it is.
It's a little clunky (large) but overall does a good job. I'm not sure if it's something I would have spent money on though. I do recommend it for first time "eyelash curlers" as it can be scary, but the light does help.
The special feature, the light, actually makes it so that I can't see my eyelashes well. It may be because I don't like to wear mascara when I curl my lashes, but I find it looking alien-like when I try to curl them with the light on. Of course, it does curl, but it takes a bit of time to get used to it compared to the usual ones with the two "clamp" handles. I wouldn't recommend it as there are other eyelash curlers that perform better than this one for an even better price.
I was so excited when I received the email that I would be able to try this product out for free (thank you ChickAdvisor!), but it turned out to be a disappointment. I have fairly long lashes (that are also quite thick), but they seem to point straight ahead, and since I wear glasses, I never really bothered with eyelash curlers (I bought a cheap one once, but was too scared that I was going to poke my eye out to actually use it). I thought that the LED light was quite ingenious, and I guess that it was quite helpful. But after following the directions, my lashes barely curled. Maybe I should have put it closer to my eye (eeks!) -- though I did try this a few times -- but the part that seem to have been affected by this curler had the ugly 90 degree shape. Though I'm inexperienced with eyelash curlers, I'm pretty sure that having this right-angle shape to your lashes is undesirable. (I also tried the curler with a piece of tissue paper, and after progressively pressing harder and harder on the lever, the only result produced by the curler was the 90 degree shape. Not good.) The overall design and idea is nice, but it fails to deliver. Thank goodness that I didn't actually go out and purchase this item, and I definitely wouldn't be recommending this product to any of my friends.
I really love the way my curls turned out after using this curler! It was super easy to use. Although I did pinch myself a couple of times, the light was a really big aid, since I could spot my eyelashes easier with it on. However, I'm not really impressed with the quality of the curler. After a week of using this product, the lever broke off, and I wasn't pressing hard at all. So if the curler could handle more pressure, I think it would be much better. All in all, I would buy this curler again, if it was cheaper.
While the LED technology is a great feature, I find my mascara wand does a superior job. Having to add a step to achieve similar (but not superior) results does not seem worth the time investment. Previous mascaras would never do this well, so in those days, I can see the benefit of having a safe, LED eyelash curler to help bring out my lashes.
First time ever using a eyelash curler but found it pretty good all the same.
