Here's a product that is affordable, but the quality is a little less than desirable. I've got two compacts of Rimmel London's Glam'Eyes Mono Eyeshadow - Jet Black and a shade of purple. Basically my only complaint about this item is how long it lasts. The Jet Black goes on bold and dark, and the eyeshadow itself is very smooth and easy to blend...but after a very short time, it rubs off.
I found the short lifespan of this product to be even worse with the lighter shade; the purple looks vibrant, but actually goes on very light. After about two hours, it had completely rubbed off.
If you don't mind re-applying this stuff on an hourly basis, then by all means get it. I think it only costs a couple dollars. It's not a horrible product, but if you're looking for long-lasting or bold eyeshadow, I would have to recommend trying a different brand. This is something you might give to a little girl to use as play makeup when she wants to dress up like a princess.
I bought this eye shadow on a United States shopping trip at Target. It was on sale so I figured I might as well pick it up. The colour in the packaging looks so vibrant at the name 'Enchantment' had me interested. When I got home and took all the packaging off I was very disappointed. I wish there was a 'tester' at the store because if I had known how the eye shadow looked when I applied it, I would not have spent the $2.30 on it. The colour is vibrant, yes, but it fails to show on the skin. Perhaps it would have worked a bit better with a primer but I really had to pile it on for it to show any kind of pigment and to even the colour out. I wouldn't buy this again, but I am curious to see how it would hold up with a good primer.
I got the Glam'Eyes Mono Eye Shadow in Urban Green.
I know the whole millitary trend is in these days, and I love the army green colour! I was a bit skeptical at first about wearing olive green eyeshadow, but I was really happy with the result. The case is compact, and I was relieved to see that it came with the aplicator (a lot of single shadows these days don't come with one!) The texture appears a bit bumpy, but it goes onto the skin smoothly. The colour is bold but subdued and not too vibrant, and it went well with my olive skintone and dark eyes. I'm excited to experiment more with this shade!
