This mascara was just "Ok" in my books. I really like a very noticablle, long, dark,, dramatic look to my lashes. This mascara was very inexpencive, which was a major bonus as I hate spending a fortune on myself for something so small. The black was a nice dark colour, it went on smooth and easy, but as it dried I did notice a small amount of flakes as the day went on. Several coats later and I was ready to run to the grocery store, but it isn't the product you're looking for if you're glamming it up for a night out. If you're after a more natural, suttle look then this is a product for you! If you're after bold and glamerous, you may want to consider looking else where.
I surprisingly really liked this mascara! I was drawn by the price because I wanted a cheap mascara to keep in my purse for those "make up on the go" mornings. It only cost about $4.99 so I wasn't expecting much, but this mascara was great coverage and actually holds a fantastic curl! I find myself using it more and more even when I'm not running late! My only complaint is that it is a little thin for my preferences and so I need to apply a few coats, but other than that I am happy!
I just realized that this is the first mascara review I've ever done so bare with me lol. I noticed that mascara hasn't been on the top of my shopping list lately. One of my favorite mascara's is the classic Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (you know, the one in the pink bottle). I've bought a ton of these and I have it in royal blue too. I've always been pleased with the results but that doesn't mean I haven't tried other ones too. I feel like its difficult to find a really good mascara that you like, for me anyway.I was at CVS the other day and noticed that they had this mascara and I remember seeing it either on a YouTube video or a blog, then I remembered why, it was the brush.
I've never seen a mascara brush shaped this way, they refer to it as a "supersized triple plump brush". It promises to give you fuller, thicker, stronger lashes for full figure volume with no clumping! I have yet to find a mascara that doesn't clump at all. But will see...
My lashes do need more volume and some length. I feel like my lashes used to be much longer, its probably all the lashes that have fell out from curling them. Is that really true or just a myth? lol I forgot.
I used this mascara twice so far and the first time I wasn't too impressed at all. I didn't feel like it gave me much volume at all and seemed to be a little thick and clumpy when applying it. The next day I wanted to give it another try and this time my opinion is different. I actually liked it a lot more this time. The first time I used it, I was in a bit of a rush (so that doesn't help) and I also applied 2 coats because that's what I'm used to. I didn't need 2 coats with this mascara at all, and that's probably why there was a few clumps. The picture below is from the first time I used it and applied 2 coats. The picture below that is the second day with only one coat. I think the second picture is an improvement.
Overall, its not horrible but its not terrific either. I wasn't expecting this crazy amount of extra volume they promised but I don't feel like there was too much extra volume at all. .It did give me a little length but unfortunately I cant say this mascara has anything that stands out to me. It's probably on the same level as my Maybelline's Great Lash (actually I like the great lash better).
One thing I did like about this mascara is how the color was a dark black with only 1 coat. Sometimes with other mascaras even if the color is Blackest Black, it doesn't show up that dark unless you apply 2 or 3 coats. I really like the packaging and how the bottle is this bright gorgeous red. The handle is also pretty comfortable and I still like the shape of the brush, I think the concept of it is good but if they made the brush bigger than I probably would have gotten more volume.
I wouldn't re purchase this product because of the reasons mentioned above. It's okay though, like I said before it's hard for me to find a mascara that I would buy again. I think I should start looking at some high end brands.
I got a free pr sample and was excited to try it out as I haven't tried their products recently, but this mascara is not for me. I found there was very little difference between wearing this and nothing at all. Very little for length and volume and my eyelashes felt dry and brittle though thankfully, they didn't flake. I have medium length and thickness to my eyelashes naturally so I thought this would work well.
This one's a no for me.
i got this mascara on sale and i liked it :) i would like it way more if i decided to get waterproof so it would hole up my curls better but this masara was not clumpy at all and made my lashes alot longer i wouldnt say this is a volumiziing mascara tho :(!
The packaging on this mascara is a 5/5, it such a pretty color!
The wand: Unique with three balls attached to form the wand. The design of the wand is very good for curling the lashes and lifting them up. With the last ball at the tip of the wand it is really easy to get those little inner corner lashes or discover outer lashes your probably didn't know you had!
The Formula: the formula is pretty good on this one, its not too wet or too dry so you can definitely work with it until you've reached your desired look.
Performance: This mascara is a good lengthening mascara, defines your lashes and separates them well. It doesn't do anything in terms of volume though.
Tip: if you want to try this mascara but also want volume, try using this mascara along with the Covergirl Lashblast!
I love love LOVE this mascara! It doesn't clump, it doesn't smell, it doesn't flake, it lasts all day and it's super cheap! What's not to love? It's my new favourite. I like it even more than Covergirl Last Blast. I also find that this mascara is really easy to rinse off, either with cleanser or eye makeup remover. I haven't tried any other Rimmel London mascaras, but I'm starting to think of Rimmel in a whole new light after using this mascara. I would definitely recommend this mascara to anyone. Hands down the best mascara I have ever used.
footnote: This mascara does add length and curl to your lashes, but it doesn't add a whole lot of volume. I use it more as an everyday mascara. When I go out, I use Sexy Curves AND Covergirl Lashblast.
It was hilarious when I bought this mascara for $7 and then it went on sale for $4. The price is average, just like any other drugstore mascara. I love the packaging because the purple really stands out from other mascaras and the brush head is unique. When I first got out the brush I was surprised it was bent! It wasn't like that in the ad, but I found it made it much easier to apply. The first few swipes gavea pretty natural look to my lashes. I have long ones, but they're very straight. This mascara didn't curl them or spread them out, but it did a good job of making them look thicker. I had trouble getting to the outside lashes though. It dries very cakey so beware of rubbing your eyes and I find that it's not a good layering mascara. It mades my lashes stick and clump together when I tried to put on another coat.
A great everyday mascara. Natural looking and makes lashes thicker :D
When I applied the first stroke of mascara I had instant results- My lashes were so much longer than they were without the mascara! So after I applied a few more strokes, I had beautiful definition and dramatic length. In the commercials and ads for this product, the model's eyelashes are incredibly long and defined, while I didn't get results quite as perfect as those, I got pretty close. Sexy Curves mascara dried very quickly once it was on my eyelashes, which made it a little bit difficult to apply several strokes, therefor making it a teeny bit clumpy. It was nothing too noticeable, however, and I was able to de-clump my eyelashes with a basic eyelash brush. Sexy Curves mascara is also advertised to last up to 12 hours, though I'm not sure it did. It did last for quite some time, but not exactly 12 hours.
I bought this mascara at my local Walgreens for around $7.50.
So even though it does have it's flaws, for only $7.50, Sexy Curves is a really good mascara.
I have naturally long and thick lashes, so I rarely find any differences between mascaras, however, this is by far my favourite. It doesn't flake at all (big plus in my books!) and the brush is perfect for combing out the lashes while putting the mascara on.
The best part is, if you need to reapply before going out at night, it doesn't cause the lashes to stick and lump together. It is the only mascara I buy now.
I always wait until it goes on sale to pick up a few at a time.
