I probably wouldn't purchase this toy
Truthfully, it didn't hold my children's attention for very long, once they got it out of the package, pulled the dinosaur apart multiple times and putting it back together; they seem to lose interest quickly. Their favorite feature was the random sound of a cat growling when pushing the sound effects button multiple times. I wasn't too impressed either, it doesn't seem to encourage use of the imagination much, at least not for my children. Though it is made with quality material and didn't break after falling off countertops.
Just an ok toy
My 5 year old son was the first t9 try this toy. He enjoyed the sound function and putting it together the first time. However the toy would not stay together when played with abd pieces were lost the same day. It would be ok for a quiet child who plays a little easier on toys I guess. Not made to smash around with other dino toys.
Cool concept but not very exciting
The Rusty Rivets Botasaur is a neat concept. It comes in a few separate pieces that a child can snap together and the eyes light up and it makes some sounds. Overall though, it's very lack-luster. After you get the pieces together, it becomes just a stationary action figure that makes noises. I realize that the concept is to buy the other figures and connect them all and make them into a huge figure, but that just seems like a marketing ploy to get consumers to spend more. This toy would definitely be better for kids under 7. It did not keep the interest of my 10yr old for more than 5minutes and he hasn't touched it since he opened it. I'm glad I #gotitfree because I would have been upset paying for this mediocre toy.
I would buy this for my young grandson.
The eyes light up and has a few various sounds like dinosaur walking, growling etc. you can pull apart and build up from the other builds from Rusty Rivets build me rivet system. My grandson absolutely loved the sounds, they made him giggle and chuckle for awhile and how he could move his head and mouth. All in all its a great product for the age stated (3yr old). Just wish it did a little more to keep him occupied longer and not off to something else.
