I had seen this product in Cosmopolitans February issue and wanted to try them. I wanted to try the lace ones but all walmat had was these gold with black crossed stripes so i bought it. Upon openning the box I realized that the strips were seperated into 2 packages, one for each hand. Since my nails are pretyy short at the time I decided to only use one package and cut them in half and save the other one for a leter use.
When peeled off the protective layer I was surprised that they actually smelled like rela polish. I wasnt expecting that.
The application was easy and you have everything you need in you little kit: strips, small file, and a cuticle stick to press the stips on so they adhere better to your nails.
I was a little skptical at how they would last 10 days, according to the packaging. I thought that after showering, wasching dishes and cleaning, cooking and other everyday activities theyd be off. But even after day 8 they were still in place and looked just as good as when they were first applied.
At almost 2 weeks I decided to remove them. Removal was really easy. Just nail polish remover like when you remove real nail polish.
This is a good product and I cant wait to try on the lace print ones. SO cute.
I received Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips for PR last week and I had a lot of fun testing them out.
The whole application from opening the box to admiring my work was just over 10 minutes. The style I tried was Bling-It-On, the colour on my nails was almost identical to the sample image on the package so I would say you get exactly what they are advertising (look-wise).
The thing that is really cool about these strips is that they are made with real nail polish when you open the sealed wrappers they actually smell like an open bottle of polish. Because they are made with real polish it is important to apply the strips as soon as you open them or they will dry out and will not adhere to your nails properly (this also mean the package can only be used once).
I followed the directions exactly as they were written and I think over all the application was a success. The finished look was exactly what I was promised - a creative nail that looked salon done - and I was impressed with how easy it was.
I was able to wear this style on my nails all weekend (and I received many compliments on the bright colour and funky style). I removed the nail polish after 4 days because the ends were a bit chipped at the ends (but nothing compared to how my nails chip after a salon manicure) and the "Barbie pink" was a bit bright for me. The removal took longer than regular nail polish because of the sparkles (they really adhere to your nails, so make sure to really scrub at them) but with a little extra pressure the polish came right off and didn't leave anything under my cuticles or around the edges.
I would definitely try this product again. I think $9 is reasonable for a special occasion or you feel like treating yourself. As long as you take care of your nails and you don't pick at the strips you can expect them to last on your nails well over a week.
