I can't stand sambuca! I used to work at a bar and I hated it when someone would order a shot of sambuca I don't like the smell at all! But I also can't stand black licorice I find is disgusting!

I hate Sambuca! Haha I guess that's probably because I hate liquorice! But if you enjoy the taste of black liquorice I would deffently recommend it to you !

Sambuca tastes exactly like black licorice. So if you don't like Black licorice than this isn't for you . You can have a shot of it or you can make a mixed drink . Lots of recipes out there . I really like it because it doesn't really taste like Alcohol to me . Don't have too much though because it's pretty sweet and can make you feel sick.

I just cant handle the flavor. Its so specific. When I used to bartend just smell of it would made me gag. But because of specific anise flavor its not a drink for everyone. Give it a try if you're into licorice.

Sambuca is an Italian anise-flavored, usually colorless, liqueur. Its most common variety is often referred to as white sambuca to differentiate it from other varieties that are deep blue in color (black sambuca) or bright red (red sambuca).Sambuca is flavored with essential oils obtained from anise, star anise, liquorice and other spices. It also contains elderflowers The oils are added to pure alcohol, a concentrated solution of sugar, and other flavoring. It is commonly bottled at 42% alcohol by volume.

This is an awesome shot, if mixed with the proper ingredients. Of course everyone's tastes are unique, this is the recipe I always use when drinking this product.

    Purple Haze recipe
    1/2 oz sambuca
    1/2 oz Chambord Raspberry Liqueur

Pour Sambuca into a shot glass then pour Chambord very slowly.
Enjoy, is all that is left. Love this !!
