Bad smell, stained my favourite shirt

I do not like the smell and it left a grey stain under the arms of clothing. It’s nice that it’s natural but I will not be purchasing it again. It needs to smell better, or preferably be unscented, and not stain.

When I saw this deodorant I was excited to use it. Charcoal in a deodorant wow.
After using it for a couple of days I noticed I had bumps develop in my arm pit, I stopped using it and than my pits started peeling like the skin was burnt. I am not able to use any deodorant at the moment while my skin heels.
Very disappointed.

Texture issue

Not the best texture, sortof pastey/sticky but the scent is strong if you like high perfumed deodorant.

Not a great product

I received this free sample a week ago and was excited to try it. I do not like it at all and won't be using the rest of it. The first thing that was a turn off was the smell. It smells like old lady and I didn't want to smell like that. I also found that it didn't keep me dry like my regular deodorant. I would put it on in the AM before work and halfway through my day, I would have to go use it again. I wouldn't recommend this product based on the fragrance of the deodorant and that it didn't give all day protection.

Natural or Not - No Thanks!

I received Schmidt's Charcoal + Magnesium Natural Deodorant for free in a product review club I am a member of. I received a full size to try and to review. This deodorant is all natural which is the only type I use. It claims to "help neutralize odour and keep you fresh, enriched with magnesium and activated charcoal. Never formulated with aluminum, propylene glycol, parabens, phthalates, or artificial fragrance."

The packaging is very fresh but upon reading the label I was instantly drawn to the fact it is made by Unilever, which is NOT a natural company at all. This was quite disappointing as I do strive not to use products from the big brands.

I have been using natural deodorants for on and off for over ten years now, so I am familiar with them. It's taken me 10+ years to find a natural deodorant that works and I finally found that brand last year. Unfortunately, Schmidt's is not it.

What I liked about it - the packaging and the scent.
What I didn't like about it - the deodorant is very soft and grainy, it does not apply smooth. It applies very thick and leaves residue under the armpits. It was very 'waxy' feeling and did not wash off easily in the shower; it required several good scrubs to remove the waxy residue from my armpits. I did not appreciate the streaks the deodorant left me with, on my clothes and later in the gym, pouring down the back of my arms. I could not get through an 8-hour work day (administrative work, not active at all!) without needing to reapply it because I noticed I was starting to smell bad. At the gym, the deodorant would drip and leave huge streaks down my leggings and all over the gym floor. It was quite embarrassing actually. Not easy to wash out of clothing either.

Earthy Blends

I was so excited to try this deodorant as I really like charcoal products! I found this deodorant to be different from any other deodorant I had used before. I immediately noticed that the texture was rough/scratchy feeling when I applied it. I honestly would be worried about how this might feel for someone who had very sensitive skin. While I can appreciate that some people may like this feeling on their under their arms, I personally was not a fan. The scent was a stronger earthy/natural type scent, but much more masculine than what I would normally use. I think this deodorant could easily be an option for men too.
I did however really like that this deodorant was all natural AND had magnesium in it. I think that magnesium is a great additive to a product that we use everyday! The deodorant felt nice after I got it on and kept me feeling clean for the day. I found that I didn’t have to use very much of this deodorant, so I would expect that this product would last a fairly long time — which is good considering it is fairly high priced (for a deodorant).
Overall, I really enjoy Schmidt’s natural deodorant line, but I would not recommend the Charcoal & Magnesium option. I really did not like the rough texture and feeling on application.

Odd texture

I was not a fan of how this applied. It’s kinda sticky and I’m not a fan of the grey colour it goes on. However it does have a nice smell. I would not like to wear this all the time.

Not the best scent

While I love this brand and anything that has charcoal in it, this just isn’t it. From the first smell, I knew it was not something I wanted to use or smell like. Maybe it’s great for some people just not my taste.
