Bye Bye Greys

So I have a trip to Cuba coming up in a couple of weeks and my hair really need to get dyed. I want to do it right before I leave so I was happy when my SCHWARZKOPF ROOT RETOUCHER arrived. I have to admit it was great. It took 5 seconds and I looked like I just had a dye job. my Grey's were gone and it actually made my hair look thicker. I have very thin hair. I brushed it out and you could not tell at all that I had put anything on my head. One suggestion about the product is be careful when you spray. I got some on my bathroom door but my magic eareser took it right off. I will definitely keep this product around. I don't like to dye my hair too often so this is perfect for those in between dye job days. 2 thumbs up!

Thanks for the chance to try this for free #try ROOTRETOUCHER. this is the best color match of all the brands I have tried, just make sure to do this before you do your make-up because you are going to have to wash the overspray off your face, it comes off easily with soap and water. This made a bit of a mess in the bathroom, there seemed to be droplets of it on the vanity, the wall, the door behind me, they wash off easily but still if I don't have time to get my hair done I certainly don't have time to clean the bathroom every day. A great way to deal with grey emergencies, I would certainly buy this product

Getting to the Root of It

Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher: Dark Brown

The first thing I noticed was the lack of instructions on the label. I found this to be rather odd. However, it was not difficult to figure out how to use the product.

I applied the root retoucher in short bursts. The first few attempts caused sputtering and splattering on my face and neck. I was holding the bottle away from my scalp in the same manner as I would when I apply my hairspray. After several applications it seemed to clear the nozzle – I wonder if there was air inside the nozzle causing the bubbles and splatters? I was able to easily remove all traces of the overspray with a damp washcloth.

I'm curious whether a different stye of nozzle would improve the output/application; perhaps a pump spray bottle top like the ones on non-aerosol hairspray or on an aerosol can? It might provide a finer mist enabling the user to apply a more controlled spray.

The spray dried almost instantly which was ideal as I was able to immediately brush and style my hair without noticing any streaking or clumping of the product on my roots. There was no noticeable odor during application.

I was slightly disappointed in the actual colour of the root retoucher spray when I applied it. It was much darker than I expected – more to the very dark brown/black colour tone. I would prefer a slightly lighter to medium range of brown shades. I would use this particular colour on the under layers of my hair but not on my part line, as the contrast might be too obvious.

The colour washed out completely and easily without leaving any remaining residue. My hair was clean and ready for a fresh application.

It did provide adequate coverage of my regrowth. I also have thinning hair and it seemed to enhance and give the appearance of fuller hair. Overall, I was very pleased with the final results.

I would definitely recommend this product for root touch ups and for those with thinning hair.

I'm impressed

I already use another brand of Root Retoucher spray and was excited to be chosen to try Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher for ChickAdvisor's Product review club. First thing I noticed was that the Schwarzkopf spray bottle is almost double the size (120g) than my usual product (57g) for a comparable suggested retail price.

Schwarzkopf spray was very accurate and it was easy to apply to my roots. It applied evenly and did a great job covering my roots. The color was a great match.

I will be using this product in the future.

Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher in Dark Brown

I received Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher in Dark Brown for free to try and review by Chick Advisor. When I did the skin test I was surprised by the force and amount of spray. Though when actually applying to my hair to cover gray and my natural dark/Medium Brown it took several sprays to get any noticeable coverage. In the end though it did cover. It just took a bit. I did find the smell a bit strong, but otherwise it wasn't bad.

Great colour match but has some serious flaws!

I used the product on two separate occasions so far. I had pretty long regrowth and a lot of new white coming in. I have naturally dark brown hair and the colour of the dark brown Root Retoucher was a near perfect match. The nozzle dispenses product quite evenly which made application pretty easy. The major drawback though was the amount of colour bleed. I tend to touch my hair a fair bit when it's down and my fingers went brown. It was snowing on one of the occasions I used it and ended up with colour dripping down my scalp and face. Certainly not ideal in either scenario!

Quick and Easy !!!

Got the color Dark Brown! #try it for free ... Great product! Quick and easy to use . It's as simple as spraying it to cover gray hair or roots fr hair coloured instantly... At first a little messy but as soon as you learn how to handle it ...it's good! Definitely a must have!

No Gray Roots!!!

Wow! Its a great product to have if you need to retouch your roots. It works well for a temporary cover. Its easy to use. You can wash it out easily always. No one could tell that I retouched my roots with this product.

Disappointed

I was super excited to try this product, but when I first used it I was shocked on how fast it sprays our and how cold the bottle gets. Makes it hard to control and because it comes our fast it doesn't cover all the grey area plus I noticed it ended up being all over the counter, me, asking and mirror. It shoots our pretty fast. I didn't like the coverage and had to try it several times and still no covering. Plus it's very sticky! #gotitfree
