Bye bye greys
I was chosen as part of the producter tester club thank you ChickAdvisor! I have colour treated dark brown hair and yes a few greys starting to sprout. I hate having to use something to colour in my greys between washes. This however was a spray suoer easy and fast to apply no gross residue and it covered my greys! Totally recomend this one
Root Retoucher - What I've been looking for!
Although I'm not exactly how much this sells for, or if I even used it correctly (as it was a free sample from ChickAdvisor) but I loved it! I have been saying for years that we need something quick and easy to spray on our roots for a quick fix. It covered my greys in seconds! I can't speak for roots that are from another hair colour, as my roots are just speckled with grey, but this worked exactly to my expectations. As long as this is under $20 and lasts more than a few applications, then I would definitely buy this product!!
Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher - So Convenient!
I'm so glad this product exists! I didn't see any instructions on the can but I've used another brand and just figured out it was the same. I used the dark brown shade and it's really great to cover up greys when you don't have time to dye your hair. I love the convenience. It sprays on well but does leave a bit of a residue, almost like hairspray. I would use this product regularly!

Covers well but...
I received a trial of this product to review. I have dark brown hair that I colour on a regular basis to cover the gray and silver streaks that are coming through. I was excited to try this product!
First thing I noticed is no instructions on how to use it. I mean, pretty straightforward but still. Beyond the warning to "SHAKE WELL" on the front of the bottle, there are no other directions to use. So. I shook well. I first sprayed in a burst fashion but that caused the product to actually drip from the tip, onto my skin and bathroom sink. It stains. Not impressive. So I covered my shoulders with a towel and tried again, this time using longer sprays. It covers fairly easily and well enough to satisfy me. I didn't go for total coverage....I just wanted to try it quickly....but I think it will work well for when I want coverage between colouring. Would I actually go out and buy it (I believe it retails between $15 and $20 locally)? Undecided, only because I am not thrilled at having the stain marks on my skin where the product dripped. I really didn't need more freckles. The application is direct but a little messy which I why I gave it 3.5 stars in Quality.
(I did upload 2 files but only 1 is showing. That is the "After" look. I did have approximately 1" of gray/brown showing at my roots.)
More time between root touchups!
Well I was pleasantly surprised. I expected a power that would flake all over the place. Instead, I got this spray bottle. I must stay, the nozzle on the can is great because you can target areas instead of getting the spray all over the place. And I like the fact that once you spray it, it dries immediately and lasts until you wash it out. I tried it on my hand and it stained my hand and was hard to take off. I like that because it will last between washing's. I received the dark brown, and it was very close to my hair colour, so you didn't notice that there was two tones at the root. I am pleasantly surprised at this product. You can take it and use it anywhere. The only downside, is I wish the bottle was bigger. !!!!!
Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher...just don't touch the roots!
Pros:
Rich brown colour
Pretty good grey coverage
Spray nozzle allows for precise application
No commitment required
Cons:
Not even transfer-resistant
Spray nozzle got a bit clogged
“Umm, wifey, what the heck?” *see below
I received the Schwarzkopf® Root Retoucher™ in Dark Brown from ChickAdvisor to test & share my thoughts on. The product is a spray-in temporary root retouching colour, for settling down those *ahem* silvery bits that keep showing up at my roots. Packaging is pretty much as expected—small, easy-to-hold metal canister with a plastic snap-on cap. The spray nozzle is a bit different in that it has a small tube attached, allowing for precise application to the root areas. I did find that the 2nd day I went back to use the product, that little applicator nozzle was clogged—it worked itself out, but by shooting a couple of chunks of dried colour out of it (did I want that in my hair? Nope!).
The colour applied easily to where I wanted it, but even with a fairly light application seemed to take longer to dry than expected. Oh & keep in mind, you’re spraying a propellant directly onto your hair/scalp, so it’s gonna be COLD for a sec. Grey coverage was pretty good & would likely be even better with building up the application a bit. I did like that it didn’t seem to dry completely flat & dull—it wasn’t shiny, but did have a satiny sheen to it.
Enter the hubby…he knew I was going to play with my hair, but didn’t know *what* I was doing. Looks it over, smiles, says it looks good, runs his fingers through it, yep still soft & touchable. Then, & I quote “Ummmm, wifey, what the heck?!?” His fingertips were covered in brown from the product, & this was over 2 hours after I had applied it. No bueno. Also not good was the amount of product that ended up on my pillowcase—it just seemed that this transferred excessively, even for a temporary product.
Bottom line: Would I purchase this? Maybe, if I needed a quick & easy touch-up for a party or event, but for the normal I-don’t-have-time-for-the-hairdresser days, I’d say nope. YMMV, of course. :)

Sadly, very disappointed in this product
I was very excited to try #SchwarzkopfRootRetoucher in Dark Brown as i #gotitfree from #ChickAdvisor. The only positive thing I can say is that it did not run after being applied to my hair. However, it is a spray (and I usually use a wand style applicator) and is very messy. Whether applied sprayed up close or further away, I ended up with specks of brown everywhere. The colour did match my hair but also was too obvious on my skin and scalp. I feel like I wasted a lot too with the amount I had to wipe off and clean up. Too bad because I love the idea but I think the spray was just a bad idea, at least for a very pale complexion. I prefer #Ardell #TouchofColour which gives me more control over the application and doesn't end up on my scalp. Just a note that I used it around my hairline where the grey is and not on top. Admittedly harder to cover.
A fast and cost-friendly way to cover your roots!
One of my biggest pet peeves in life is grey hair! Unfortunately, I've been cursed with premature grey hair, and have been dealing with these unruly strands for years. Since I can't stand the look of grey roots, I'm forced to get my hair coloured quite frequently. However, this has proven to be a costly endeavour.
So that's why I was so happy to be introduced to Schwarzkopf's Root Retoucher! This temporary touch-up spray managed to cover my roots effectively, and it was so quick and easy. It lasted for a full day, and washed out during my next shower. My only criticism is that it made my hair feel a bit sticky.
But I definitely intend to use this product again in between dyes so that I can save money and dye my hair less frequently.
Thanks ChickAdvisor for introducing me to this product!
