Dark brown to cover the grey!

I received @SchwarzkopfCA #tryrootretoucher through chickadvisor program #gotitfree !! I have my roots come in ever 2 weeks and it’s been a pain to dye my entire head all the time, this root retoucher was perfect for touch ups !!! I would recommend it and have already purchased the product :)

J'ai choisi un ton trop foncé pour moi, croyant que c'était ma couleur... Mais, ça a tout de même été efficace, car ma repousse était la même couleur que le produit, donc, ça a caché mes cheveux blancs!!! Je vais essayer un ton ou deux, plus pâles, la prochaine fois!!! Il faut l'appliquer avant de mettre nos vêtements propres, et faire bien attention, car il y a des gouttes qui vont un peu partout car c'est en aérosol...

Works well enough

Unlike another brand of root spray I tested, fortunately this applies nicely, and doesn't leave a "shoe polish" or too powdery look. It also isn't sticky (I could touch my hair & brush it) or drippy. It didn't stain. So I'll be using it regularly & would recommend it. Another decent quality Schwarzkopf product.

How easy is this

I was a bit sceptical of a spray dye, but #igotitfree and decided to give it a try. It was so easy and went on smoothly and evenly. With just a few stray grays it makes it easy to go longer between dyes.

Root Retoucher Will Help Save Me Money

I received this product for free in exchange of an honest review. Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher is easy to use and gives me the root touch-up I need so I don't have t visit the salon as much, saving me money. Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher matched my hair perfectly. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends. I will also purchase it for myself.

Getting to the Root of It

Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher: Dark Brown

The first thing I noticed was the lack of instructions on the label. I found this to be rather odd. However, it was not difficult to figure out how to use the product.

I applied the root retoucher in short bursts. The first few attempts caused sputtering and splattering on my face and neck. I was holding the bottle away from my scalp in the same manner as I would when I apply my hairspray. After several applications it seemed to clear the nozzle – I wonder if there was air inside the nozzle causing the bubbles and splatters? I was able to easily remove all traces of the overspray with a damp washcloth.

I'm curious whether a different stye of nozzle would improve the output/application; perhaps a pump spray bottle top like the ones on non-aerosol hairspray or on an aerosol can? It might provide a finer mist enabling the user to apply a more controlled spray.

The spray dried almost instantly which was ideal as I was able to immediately brush and style my hair without noticing any streaking or clumping of the product on my roots. There was no noticeable odor during application.

I was slightly disappointed in the actual colour of the root retoucher spray when I applied it. It was much darker than I expected – more to the very dark brown/black colour tone. I would prefer a slightly lighter to medium range of brown shades. I would use this particular colour on the under layers of my hair but not on my part line, as the contrast might be too obvious.

The colour washed out completely and easily without leaving any remaining residue. My hair was clean and ready for a fresh application.

It did provide adequate coverage of my regrowth. I also have thinning hair and it seemed to enhance and give the appearance of fuller hair. Overall, I was very pleased with the final results.

I would definitely recommend this product for root touch ups and for those with thinning hair.

I'm impressed

I already use another brand of Root Retoucher spray and was excited to be chosen to try Schwarzkopf Root Retoucher for ChickAdvisor's Product review club. First thing I noticed was that the Schwarzkopf spray bottle is almost double the size (120g) than my usual product (57g) for a comparable suggested retail price.

Schwarzkopf spray was very accurate and it was easy to apply to my roots. It applied evenly and did a great job covering my roots. The color was a great match.

I will be using this product in the future.

Covered up grey roots pretty well

Tried this with my mom. It's fairly easy to do it yourself. We noticed that it stains the scalp a little bit so make sure to wear gloves and rub the colour into the hair and then it's not as bad. When spraying, there's some splatter around the area so ensure that you lay down some old towels or paper to cover your clothes and the immediate area. The colour looked really good after application. You just need a small spritz and the nice dark brown colour attaches really well to the hari. This is a temporary solution to colour your roots so it comes off when you wash your hair. It works pretty well as a quick fix when you're in a rush to go out for the day and don't have time to do a complete colour. Check out the before and after pictures. Pretty awesome!

J'ai testé le produit et je confirme que c'est une excellente alternative pour camoufler les repousses de cheveux gris lorsque le temps nous manque pour refaire la teinture.
C'est vite appliqué, c'est propre et net, sans tache et ça recouvre bien le gris. J'ai testé le brun foncé et la couleur se marie bien avec le reste des cheveux.

Good for Quick Fixes

At first this was a little tricky to apply, it actually took me a couple tries to get a feel for it. I was shocked to see that it washes out in one shampoo; I had the impression that maybe it would last at least a couple of washes. But honestly, this is a good thing because if you're in a bind and need a quick fix for those roots, this product is a great option.
