Spray on retoucher
I #gotitfree through the Chick Advisor product review club. It took me a long time to work up the energy to try it. In the time between applying for the review product and the time I got selected, I had changed my hair colour. It had been a deep auburn, but then I changed it to black. Once my roots started to show quite a bit, I decided there was no harm in giving it a try. I would describe it as a coloured hair spray. It is relatively easy to use, although you have to keep the bottle upright. Spraying some of the hair on top while keeping it upright is not easy. The spray feels cold hitting your scalp. My scalp was coloured a pinky red by the auburn sample I had. Once your hair is sprayed, you can't really comb or brush it. It washes out so it is good for a couple of days and then it's gone. You have to decide whether it's worth the effort of continuing to use the spray before you colour your hair again.
Quick fix but really not for me!!!
I have tried the mahogany version of this spray. I have tried it on two different occasions, just to be sure of my experience. It's really not a bad product, but not quite for me. I do recommend it for ladies that style their hair a lot. To hide your roots in this purpose it's great. If you make a quick bun and like your hair natural and loose, a nope!
I followed all the instructions to a T. It worked well. You do get color on your skin, but rubbing lightly will erase it. No water, you will take the color away from your hair. I have pure white strands of hsir. Almost, diamond white. I needed 4-5 applications to actually get the shimer and whiteness out. But honnestly, a nice high ponytail, couple of strands down, the spray and I was not ashamed of having my roots showing.
The only surprise I got was the smoke! Since the product is under pressure, when I applied it, a white smoke when spraying surprised me! But that was just funny!
I didn't really like the smell. And the texture of my hair is kinda funky with this on. Also, if you are not ready to wash your hair before bed, this is not the best bet. Yoyr pilliw will end up matching your roots!
I'm not sure I'd buy this myself, but I would recommend it for ladies that need a quick fix!!

I would buy this product
This was an easy quick fix when I made a last minute decision to go out and no time for dying my hair! It was easy to use and covered evenly.

The root touch up does not totally cover up the greys, but it sure tones them down so that they are not so noticeable to the eye. It does have a strong smell to it, and sprays little splatters on your face but it washes off very easily. It is good for when you are not able to recolor your hair right away. so yes, I would buy this product.
Love this product
Love this product. It help to cover my roots in between coloring. Didn't have to strong of a smell and washed out easily. Thanks chick advisor for the chance to #try it free
Time saver
#igotitfree
So right off the bat, this is a time saver. I do not like to keep dyeing my hair just because I need to cover up the roots. So this is cool. Kinda like a dry shampoo..
I was very careful using it, because I got a dark shade. I combed my hair and did the parts that really show grey (temples, sides) and gently combed my hair after application.
I do say I like the convenience of hair colour in a can! Just that I dont like washing my hair after each application and using it everyday until it's time to dye again. But lifesaver for emergencies that's for sure. I'd recommend it for just that purpose..to save my hair in a pinch and if I was traveling as well..but not sure about regular usage.
Thanks ChickAdvisor for giving me this complementary trial!
try the root retouch
I was sent the dark root retouch. Its effective it covers your roots. The spray does come out alot and you have to comb it through or else looks like clump of color and you have to figure how to do by ears as gets on them.I find value was great too.
Was okay but messy
-easy to use but the spray nozzle seems to get clogged easily if you don't hold the bottle right
-very pigmented to cover your roots
-simple
-washed out of my hair in a 2 weeks so it made me not have to color my hair as much
-I didn't like the smell ..it still was on the chemical side ..this smell stayed in my hair until about my 3rd wash
-great range of colors
-a gteat product to fix your roots if you don't want to color your hair often with tons of damage ..this product does not damage your hair at all.I love that

Great quick coverup - not just for white hair
In short: it works!
Great little trick for when you MUST cover up the roots (white hair included) and you just don't have the time to do your colour (or go get it done).
The colour worked with mine, it looks a little opaque (matte), but it's better than the skunk line we would have...
Because I was afraid to spray it at its maximum pump, it ended up dripping, easy enough to clean up from my neck and floor (as long as it doesn't sit too long, I would assume), but if it was to drip on a face full of makeup, you might end up having to retouch your makeup...
I took before and after pictures, for some reason the ones with flash make it look like it was "glowing", it wasn't. I checked it at work under fluorescent lights and it looked normal. Also, it didn't colour my scalp too much, which was a concern.
Not a bad little trick, the bottle would last a long time, as you wouldn't need to use it every day, and you would literally use it for a part in your hair, not the full head. Please note that I had crazy dirty/gel residue in my hair, because I was going to wash it off if needed.
My colour was Dark Mahogany.
