something for a quick fix
root touch up is something for a quick fix but nothing to rave about in my opinion for the price I would not buy it. I would much rather walk around with grey roots than spend money on a product that does not make my hair look and feel good.
I wouldn't buy this again
I was very excited to be picked by ChickAdvisor to try this for free for an honest review. I usually love Schwarzkopf products but this one didn't wow me. I used the Schwarzkopf® Root Retoucher™ in Light Blonde it made my roots look chalky and yellow. It left a residue on my sleep as well. It may look better on darker hair
Not going into my beauty supply arsenal
Thanks for sending me this product for free. I wish I had longer for the review of this product, because I had coloured my hair just before it arrived, and therefore, don't really have any roots to colour. I did lift up some hair and tried it underneath where it's darker and it was just OK. It has a very strong smell, which I didn't love. also, it goes on in thin spray stripes, which I guess is Ok if you are just doing roots in your part. The colour did match pretty well, however. I can't see using this product again though.
I wanted to love this :(
I definitely need a root retoucher. I dye my hair every 6 weeks with 'Nice and Easy' however I often have roots in between colourings if I wait too long. I would love to have a product that I can spray on and have instant results. It would be so convenient. I've tried this product twice, the first time I sprayed it on my hair when it was wet and then blow dried it as usual. It didn't really work. I tried it again today on dry hair, and again I could hardly see a difference. I took before and after photos, my roots are less visible afterwards, but they are still there. I guess I just expected it to look like I dyed my hair, which it definitely did not. I really wanted to love this product, but the results were not what I expected.
Effective, but not meant for darker regrowth.
My roots are currently out of control at the moment, but I’ve been putting off going to the salon. I was excited to try the root touch up product (#gotitfree!). I had the light blond shade and tried it out. It’s important to note the product is intended for lighter regrowth. Mine was darker, but I was surprised that it did help to lighten my roots somewhat, making them less noticeable.
Not for me
This really was not what I had expected. To begin with, I could not find any instructions, so I just winged it. The color didn't cover my grey like I expected. I think that it may be great for dark hair, but the blonde just didn't get it. It was also dry, kind of similar to a dry shampoo and left hair dull. It does wash right out, which is good. I did find the instructions afterwards. At the bottom left of the back label is a little arrow that states "open". Peel it back, and voila, there are your instructions!
Maybe it is better for darker hair?
I was super excited to try this. And it turned out to be one interesting experience. It felt like I was spray painting my head. It lightened my roots. And gave my hair a matte chalky feel. But it clearly didn’t match the rest of my hair. I think the coverage would be better for darker hair. It didn’t work well for me. But I think it’s because there is such a contrast between my roots and the rest of my hair. #gotitfree.
It was ok but not great!
I used the Schwarzkopf Retoucher for blond hair, I expected a bit more coverage although it did look a bit better than my dark roots. I bet the darker shades would cover dark hair better. Blond is harder to match up.
