Scotch Essential Adjustable Hem Tape comes with 24 strips to work with. What's nice about this product is that it's not only an inexpensive and quick way to hem clothes, but it can be used when you only want to temporarily shorten your garments. As it states on the package "Change your hem length without commitment."

I had to hem my jean length only for today to work with my short heel booties, and the product worked well... a really great solution for those temporary alteration needs.

This product came with 24 medium strips which retail for $9.99. I used this product on the same black blazer I used the #ScotchEssentials Easy Fix Button. With this product I wanted to raise the length of the sleeves. This blazer was a little awkward, where the sleeve is not full length but it's not 3 quarter either, so I used these strips to work with adjusting the sleeves to 3 quarter length.

This tape is not meant to be washed so there is no commitment to the hem you've placed, which is great for those who are not sure whether the adjusted hem will work for them. When you're sure you want to keep them hem, after washing the item you can proceed to use the permanent hem bonding strips. This product is great for those who have tailors and just need to hold items in place until they can visit their tailor.

I need to disclose that I received this product for free as part of the Product Review Club. Also, the package arrived late so I'm sorry for the late review.

I'm a no-sew woman so when I need something hemmed, I'm normally going out to get it done. This product is a fantastic alternate for me to do these hems myself. While I wouldn't say there's no work involved, the effort is minimal for the great result - it's a quick fix solution for hemming skirts that you want to take up for a night or even pants that you may want to make ankle length for the summer. I love the flexibility this product allows for me to do different things with pieces in my wardrobe.

I was so happy when I found out that I was chosen to be part of the review panel for Scotch Essentials instant tailoring solutions! The adjustable hem tape is the 1 that I was most looking forward to trying out because I have a pair of high waisted dress pants that I love to wear with various pairs of shoes. They came the perfect length for my stilettos & other high heels, but were constantly getting dirty from touching the floor & sometimes even caught on the bottom of my lower wedges. So I tried the adjustable hem tape & was very pleased with how quick & easy it was to use. I've only had a chance to wear them once so far, so I can't yet tell how well they will last through a few uses before they need to be washed, but I would be quite surprised if they didn't hold up a couple more days because there were no signs of loosening up after the first day.

I do have a few tips though when using this product:
- The tape comes at about 3/4" wide, so if you're looking to hem less than an inch, you'll have to cut the tape horizontally. (I haven't tried this though, so I'm not sure how well it will work.)
- If you're a perfectionist, I suggest getting another person to help you measure the hem length. That way you can wear the clothes in front of a mirror while they play with different heights & mark where you want it to end up. Not that it can't be done on your own, but it might not end up exactly where you want it (especially with pants because you have to bend so far down to adjust them when on, & that bending changes the effect).

All in all, I do like this product. However, I'm not convinced that I'll buy it in the future because the cost to buy compared to what I can imagine the cost to produce is, must allow for ridiculously high profit margins. It's essentially just double-sided tape cut into strips, so considering I needed 8 strips of tape to hem my pants for only a couple of days, I think I'd rather just pick one hem length & stick with it.

Whoa!!! In this climate, weather changes pretty quickly. I never know if I will be in heels, snow boots or galoshes when I chose my pants. This has always been an huggge issue with pant length. My life has become so much easier with the Scotch adjustable hem tape. Mornings will go much smoother now and I will get more mileage out of more trousers.

This was perfect for that pair of jeans that I want to wear with flats as well as with heels. I keep trying to decide what length I wanted my pants and now I don't have to decide. What a flexible versatile product! Easy to use. Again I used the iron to get a crisp hem line. I found the tape lasted all day long and was easy to take off after the wear of the day. When washed to wear then with my heels there was no residue evident on the jeans. I think this is a fantastic product to have around my house and I will buy it again without a doubt.

This is a fantastic product! I have my annual conference coming up next and thought I had to but new clothes to make sure I looked business professional during the day, and a bit more fun at night. With the adjustable hem tape I can easily tailor the length of my skirts and dresses to the appropriate length for any given event. It sticks well and is so easy to use! This product just saved me a lot of money

J'ai eu la chance de tester ce produit. Pour une fille qui ne coud pas, ce produit est très pratique et même essentiel à avoir dans la trousse de dépannage!
L'application se fait assez facilement : on enlève la pellicule, on met sur le tissu, on presse, puis on enlève l'autre pellicule et on rabat l'autre côté en appuyant. J'ai fait le tout à la main, sans fer à repasser. Le résultat est bon (Bien sûr, il ne faut pas tirer sur le tissu pour vérifier la solidité, car ça décolle!) Je ne sais combien de temps le tout va tenir, mais pour un dépannage de dernière minute, ça donne le résultat escompté! Merci!

I don't like to hem but using this product was heaven sent for me. Easy to travel with and easy for my daughter to use as well

I received this product to review from ChickAdvisor. This item is fantastic in terms of function! I often wear flats, but do wear heels now and then. Before, i would separate my pants out into "pants for flats", and "pants for heels". With this product, I effectively have now doubled my wardrobe options as I can now wear my "pants for heels" with flat shoes by using this as a temporary hem solution to shorten those pants.

The product is very easy to use. It's definitely easier applying the strips in shorter lengths along the hem. I cut the strips half again as I found that it gives a better hem look and seal. I like how after using the tape, it's very easy to take off and does not leave a residue after my pants have been laundered.

I did find that the lasting power was better with softer fabrics than with with my heavy denim jeans. When I used them with my crepe pants, the hem stayed put until I took the tape off. With my jeans, I had to periodically press the hem back into place.

Overall, I still love this product and absolutely recommend it if you want to be able to double the wearing options for your pants.
