I received this item for free from ChickAdvisor to review. This is a great way to hem pants if you are borrowing it from someone or if you want to hem a pair of pants that you do not wear often because you need to remove the tape before putting it in the washing machine, drying machine or before ironing it. For $7.99 for 30 strips (15 pairs of pants), that can become quite expensive.I would also recommend this for baby clothes because you can buy a size up, use the Hem tape until the baby or kid has outgrown it. On the plus side, it is very easy to use and the tape is strong enough to last the day. It is even strong enough on heavier material such as jeans.

I used this to fix the bottom of my pants where they'd ripped from being stepped on; not quite the conventional way for it to be used but it worked for me, and it held my pants together!

Great product! I love the fact that you can adjust this hem depending on your shoes you wear. It's an easy fix to solve going to get everything tailored. Since I'm a short girl to begin with. Keep with me at all times now!

Love! If you are a skinny pant wearer, then you will want this! Adjust it with heels or keep it longer for boots. Super easy to use, and the directions are simple to follow. Just make sure you take off before washing!

Ok item, I'm not super handy, so this worked well, but took some effort. I like the idea of it as a quick fix but it isn't a permanent solution. I think it's good to have around for a emergency fix for that almost perfect outfit, but if you plan to wear something frequently might as well go to a tailor.

Scotch Essentials Adjustable Hem Tape is similar to the Scotch Essentials Permanent Hem Strips. It helps you to hem your clothing. I love to use these on my son pants and I can change the length as he grows. Perfect! I don't remove when washing though even the instruction says so, cause it will be too troublesome.

Probably won't use for adults though cause I suppose it is rare that you have to keep adjusting your pants length, probably use the permanent one.

I am really happy I got to try the Adjustable Hem Tape for ChickAdvisor. I am petite so I have a challenge buying pants that fit me and don't drag on the ground when I wear them...additionally I am an awful sewer when I have to use a machine! I used the hem tape on a pair of jeans and had pretty good luck. It was relatively easy to use, even without ironing. The product kept the jean hem up and off the ground for the entire day, which made me happy. A few things I would warn about, would be that you need to apply these in fairly good light, at least the first time. I found the instructions a little difficult to read, they were kind of small and I really needed the good light in my kitchen to read them and figure out where I needed to put the strips on my jeans. You do need to plan ahead when you are hemming your pants though. This is not really a two minute fix, it does take a bit longer. Also you need to remember to remove the tape prior to putting your clothes in the washer, so remember you will be 'hemming' again the next time you wear it.

Much better (cheaper and can do it anytime and change your mind) than paying for a permanent hem, which may or may not suit your shoes. Always my dilemma as I am quite petite and always have to hem my pants. Hard to figure out which length to follow since I'd like heels and flat options. This product lets you at least try out any length(s) before perhaps using a permanent strip or traditional hemming.

Not for use on all fabrics.

    More thoughts:
    - Easy tab to pull off the backing
    - Nice that you don’t have to iron it on
    - Simple directions but a bit too tiny font; diagrams useless b/c small. If this is the true pack size, suggestion to add a larger instruction sheet with clearer diagrams inside
    - Instructions should indicate how close to place strips
    - Strips are much easier to apply than a roll to cut, but if using several strips minimize the gap between strips since fabric tends to pucker in the gap (I learned that after the first pant let!)
    - Note: easiest if two people do it (until you get used to it perhaps) just to hold things smooth and prevent fabric from accidentally sticking to the tape;
    - Note: also easier to apply one side of all strips and then slowly removing the second backing and smoothing each section one at a time. I found it easier to hold fabric in hand to close over tape vs. flattening on the board (especially if any stretch to fabric or if the width of the part being folded up is not the same as the rest of the e.g. pant leg
    - Not sure how this would work on lighter weight fabrics (outline might show through a bit)
    - Not meant for skirts though slightly longer strips for that purpose would be a nice idea.
    - Might work on some sleeves
    - Package states use of this for going from flats to heels, but note that these aren’t reusable strips; they just can be removed (presumably) without damage

    - Important to remember to remove before washing!
