I wanted to like this easy fix button, but it didn't really work for me. just by chance, my button popped at work, so I thought this was perfect opportunity to test out the Scotch Essentials Easy Fix Button. Now this is only a temporary solution until I get home and get my sewing kit out, however it fell off in an hour. It just didn't stick with my button to my shirt. It's possible that it depends on the material of your shirt or button. I would have to say no for this one.
I really love the idea - I loosened a button up on a blouse to trial it out; and it did hold for a night out!
I am not sure of the long term staying power; but definitely good in a quick temp fix!
I received this item to review from the Chickadvisor Product Review Club.
I thought the Easy Fix Button kit was a neat idea. While I wouldn't use it as a permanent fix to a lost button for my clothes it is nice to have on hand for when you're on the go. It was easy to use and good for a quick fix. It would be good to bring along when traveling, but to me sewing a button back in place is just as quick and easy.
I probably won't buy this again, but it's a good fix for someone that doesn't want to have to worry about sewing buttons back in place.
Cool product as I've never heard of anything like it before. Thanks to chickadvisor for sponsoring this post, in my personal and honest opinion its great for emergency travel purposes. I think this would be the type of product I would keep in my safety kit.
I received this product for free from ChickAdvisor to review. It is my favourite product out of the 3 Scotch Essentials items that I received. This package comes with 4 buttons (2 in black and 2 in white). It is a great emergency fix when you are out on the go, but I would not recommend this if you need to fix a lose button at home. For $7.99 for 4 buttons, I find this to be very expensive but it is great to have in your emergency travel kit or to put in your purse. These buttons are more suitable for lightweight shirts like a blouse or dress shirt. It is not strong enough for outerwear.
Scotch Essentials Easy Fix Button is a great product for sticky situation. It is easy to use and it hides the missing buttons. It is great to keep at the office or in your car. The only problem is that it is kinda pricey. Approximately $2 for each button. But I guess when I need it, I don't mind that $2.
The package I received to try contained a total of four shirt buttons. The two white buttons I used and could see using more often, since most of my blouse buttons are white. I would have liked a darker colour in my package for the other two buttons though, perhaps a black or a navy blue, but that is just me and my clothes colours! Actually using the repair kit is pretty easy, the fastener or clip holding the button on is large so you do need to have a blousey fitting shirt, form fitting ones would be a bit tough. For me though, having the button is the challenge point. If I have a button and a bit of thread, sewing a loose button back on is super easy. Although this kit works well, quickly hand-sewing a button on is just as easy (the trick is having everything you need on hand)! For me, I probably wouldn't use this product that often, I would rather sew a button on myself. That being said, if you are absolutely not a sewer this is for you, it is quick, it is easy, AND it holds!
Ingenious idea!
I could see this being slipped into one’s purse or car glove compartment. The package I received had 2 white and 2 grey small buttons; the addition of 2 black buttons would increase utility.
This product is designed specifically for shirts, not outerwear, pants, or skirts. Perhaps they’ll also create a multi-pack with different sizes and weights of buttons.
Drawback: the backing "clip" is bulky so shirt/blouse needs to be roomy. However, given that this is probably an emergency fix-it product, it's great!
Thanks for the opportunity to try this product for free.
Personally I rarely have this problem of a button popping of my blouse. But if you do I can see this being a great product. It is small and easy to carry with you in your purse or in the car. Once I understood the instructions it was easy to use. I had to read them twice to get it right. I had a blouse that I was avoiding wearing because I did not want to sow a button on it. I don't think this is a solution that would go through the wash well though. Just a quick fix. I would recommend this product for men and market it toward them as I don't think I'd buy it again.
