Don't listen to the bad reviews!
All the bad reviews are being left by idiots who just aren't washing and grooming the stuffed toy properly. The whole point is that you're adopting a RESCUE and that the animal isn't the best looking at first, but with time they can be beautiful. It teaches your children patience and how to care for something despite what it looks like. Ignore the boomer Karen parents who have no idea what patience or care actually means.
Not a fan
My daughter got one of these as an early Christmas gift. We followed the instructions and we’ve watched many YouTube videos previously which is why she wanted one. We washed the pet and dried it properly but I find the fur to be rough and messy looking. It doesn’t brush out nicely or look cute. It has some rough spots that feels like the “netting” that dissolves didn’t get washed off completely. Not a fan and definitely not worth the money.
Worst toy ever
The packaging is very misleading. The toy inside looks like something out of the trash and it doesn't change with washing, drying and combing. Also, some parts were missing - we got the comb and nothing else!
My daughter was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
I would buy this a million times
I got one and it had an adorable llama, "someone" got it with me, they got a cat everyone is just washing it wrong do it by hand, groom it, blow-dry it, wait, groom again, and it looks like in the photo.
Fun process but not the cutest!
Scruff a Luvs are a cleaver and fun toy but also time consuming with a less than perfect result! The animal comes out of the box in a compressed ball and opens up as you clean it! My daughter was thrilled as it revealed itself in the water! She has a mini sink and she washed and washed so proud of her newly rescued friend. Then came the work it’s hair is matted so it must be brushed over and over to loosen it up. After it’s brushed you have to dry it of course. She didn’t want to put it in the dryer because that would hurt her friend! So I spent forever blow drying it as I brushed even more scruffed up hair! The idea that your rescuing an animal and washing it and grooming it is super cute! it was fun however it never will look like a cute fluffy animal!
Overall it was a lot of fun for her and she’s even rewashed it several times. Each followed by a full mommy spa testament from me!
I would still recommend it just be prepared!
Gave my daughter nightmares
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She intended to sleep with it but it's so scary looking it gave her nightmares. This thing looks so raggy, nothing like the pictures on the box. It was a total waste of money and a big disappointment for my daughter. Honestly, the dog's toys look better than this.
I would not buy again
At first I thought it was a cute concept but my daughter quickly gave up when you had to wash it I don’t think she liked the feeling of the glue on her hands that was coming off of the animal. I sure did not like the fact of putting a stuff animal in water.
Pc of trash
Please don’t throw your money on this toy is like throwing your money on the drain they need to take this toys out of the market what a joke with this tifs!!!!!!! Is nothing like the comercial on Tv or in the package!!!! Tifs I’m so disappointed 😔 They got better toys at the dollar tree 🌳 store.
You too can pay $29 for a used dog chew toy!
The packaging is so deceptive and my daughter is so disappointed! The end bunny looks like roadkill. Flat, fur still mattered/balding. Would avoid at all cost!
Awful. Complete bait and switch.
What's on the box and what's in the box are completely different things. This is false advertising at its purest. Like many others, we found that following the instructions resulted in a toy that looks like it was just fished from a storm drain.
