Sensationail Polish to Gel Transformer Kit

The Polish to Gel Transformer Kit is a great way to save some money on a gel mani. The whole set costs about $50 CAD.
It comes with:
- an LED lamp, to cure your nails
- a nail primer (which is really teeny, but a little goes a long way) to prime your nails for the polish to gel mixture
- the polish to gel transformer, which is like a base/top coat consistency

There are two methods that can be used with this kit:
1- create a polish/gel transformer mixture with your favourite nail paint and the gel transformer, or;
2- paint your nails with a regular and top with the polish to gel transformer top coat

I prefer to paint my nails with a regular nail polish and top it with the gel transformer because I'm able to get a smoother application with my regular polish. The mixing technique, I find, results in streaky looking nails, and it's definitely harder to soak off after two weeks.

I purchased the sensational gel transformer with LED lamp so that i could do my own gel manicures at home. I was disappointed with the results as the polish still seems to chip within a few short days of wearing it. The hassle of taking off gel polish is definitely not worth the extra day or 2 you get with the gel top coat. I do like that the LED lamp that came in the box can be used with both gel polishes and regular polish (with gel top coat) and love love love that your nail polish dries in 1 minute. I find it difficult to sit and let my nails dry but I do not think the hassle of taking it off is worth it. I wish they came up with a much easier removal process- soaking in acetone just isn't cutting it.

I purchased this product to transform some of my non-gel polishes and give them a longer life span on my nails. This product is not a replacement for a gel mani, but I did find it increased the longevity of my regular polish manicure by a few days. I usually get 3-5 days without chipping (I work with my hands and with products that really wear out manicures), but with this top coat I got about 7-8 days. Note that I did not mix this product with my regular nail polish, I simply used it as a top coat. Overall I will stick with gel manicures because I can get 2-3 weeks out of them, but I will keep this product around to get better wear out of regular polishes when needed.
