Good for Face, Not for Eyes

This Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil wiped away water resistant SPF makeup like it was nobody's business! It came off super easily and with a little soap and water the oil from the product rinsed right off and didn't leave any unwanted residue behind.

I did do an extra test to see how "ultimate" this product was and let me tell you the Shiseido Cleansing Oil was able to completely take off a temporary tattoo, which I think speaks for itself.

That being said, though this cleansing oil works really well you're not supposed to use it on your eyes which can be rather annoying for some to have to buy another product to remove your eye makeup.

The main thing that stresses me out is trying to balance the hydration of my skin with all the acne products I use. I’ve professed my love for Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil time and time again. This oil is applied to dry skin prior to washing your face, without ever compromising moisture. It’s a godsend for removing every last trace of make up, including waterproof sunscreen after a long day at the beach.

I have found my new favorite winter cleaning oil for my face. I tend to get a bit dry in the fall and winter and I find my regular face wash doesn't work as well. I got a bottle of the Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil from an event I attended and I have been using it for a few weeks now. It is incredible how soft this oil is when you put in on your hands to wash your face. I swear it's like silk. It lathers up only a little but just enough to give your face a good washing. I usually have to put cream on after I wash my face within seconds before it dries up but not with this product. I can take my time and my face feels fresh, clean and so incredibly soft. It's a tad expensive; the average price being $25 for a small bottle at Sephora but I say it's totally worth it.

My sister recommended this product to me. I was at first skeptical about the idea of using an oil to clean my face, but I am now a huge fan. I wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis including blush, foundation, eyeshadow and eyeliner so a good cleanser is important to me. I find the biggest challenge for facial cleansers is my eyeliner, which is difficult to remove, and which I end up having to remove separately with eye makeup-specific remover. But this Shiseido cleansing oil entirely removed all of my eyeliner without a trace! It doesn't leave your face feeling oily, which you might assume. Plus, it doesn't sting your eyes like soap cleansers. I have acne prone skin and this didn't irritate my skin at all. It does such a good job of cleaning my face that I would warn those with very dry skin to be sure to follow up with a moisturizer afterwards though. Although this is a little more pricey than your average face cleanser, the ease and quickness with which it entirely removes my makeup is worth it!

I've been using the Shiseido Ultimate Cleansing Oil for about a month now. I've been using it on my face only, but it's also made for your body. I've heard that this cleansing oil is too strong for your face and especially using it daily, but I haven't found anything to show this. The oil cleanser is great for removing any excess dirt, oils or beauty products. In fact, you can even use it to remove sunscreen. It's lightweight and leaves no residue. I was scared my skin would feel oily afterwards but it doesn't at all. When used with warm water after, it turns into a milk cleanser and just washes away, leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed. It feels super purifying. For the amount, it's a bit pricey. I think I would buy this again but I'm not sure I would buy it continuously. Maybe every so often. Compared to other oil cleansers though, this isn't actually that much.
