Good but too expensive for what it is

PROS: lightweight and easy to use, non greasy, removes makeup well, smells quite nice and not overpowering
CONS: super expensive, not any different than other cleansing oils

Really great product but for $100 I would expect more to be honest. Its quite nice but I dont think I could be persuaded to spend that much on a cleansing oil.

Not worth it

I received this product for free for testing purposes. It's a very lightweight cleansing oil, like water, so personally for me it's a bit harder to work with, but again, that's just me. When I tried this, I didn't have a lot of makeup on, but I did see it "melt" when I applied this. It washed off really easily. My face didn't feel any different than if I used an inexpensive drugstore cleanser though.

Here's the clincher. I went in with micellar water on a cotton round afterwards to see if it really cleansed everything.... Nope. Still had makeup and dirt on the round. I prefer my cleansers to take everything off, not feel the need to use more product or buy a second one to take care of what the first one should have done. I don't wear heavy makeup (can't stand the way it feels), so it's disappointing if it couldn't even fully remove a light coverage amount.

Beautiful scent + highly effective cleansing oil

My preferred method of makeup removal has been cleansing oils for the past 7 to 8 years. Now that these products have exploded on the market, it's become easier and easier to find new oils to try. The Ultim8 Cleansing Oil from Shu Uemura is absolutely divine (and that's not a word I ever use!). The scent is so beautiful, yet light, and I can't stop smelling the bottle - not sure if it's the Japanese camellia oil (from tsubaki flower), but it's addictive. I used the oil on my dry face, to try and remove my full face of makeup (foundation, concealer, mascara, brow pencil, and blush) at the end of the day. I immediately saw my makeup "melt" off my face after rubbing the cleanser in. I then rinsed my face and followed with a standard face wash. Some nights, I didn't actually follow through with a second face wash since my skin felt so cleansed and moisturized from this oil - it was soft to the touch and felt very hydrated, so I didn't want to strip it of any further moisture or oil by doing a second wash. If the price point were a bit better, I would 100% buy this over and over and over.

clean skin

i used the sample and must say it cleanzed my skin well leaving it moisturized too.It was easy to remove the makeup and sunblock too.The skin was not irritated after using so that a plus for me .

Lucky to try a free sample of #tryshuuemura luxurious cleansing oil for free~ thank you #butterly. Easy to use, applied on the palms of my hands then geny massaged on my face, wet my face & wiped. Loveky fragrant smell, leaving my face feeling cleaning & moisturized. Great to use as a makeup remover. High quality product with high quality results!

Did what says it’s supposed to. But it made me break out in acne after one use. I do have sensitive skin and react to a lot of products. Wouldn’t try or buy again.

Perfect cleansing oil

This cleansing makeup removing oil was great. It was effective in removing my makeup . It did not feel overly oily or greasy on my face. I highly recommend this product.

I love this cleansing oil. I wasnt sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. My face felt clean and moisturized. Highly recommend this product.

Effortlessly cleans away excess sebum & makeup

Very fortunate to have had the opportunity to try out the Ultime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil from shu uemura. Having used micellar water as my go-to for removing makeup, dirt, and excess oils, I was excited to give a cleansing oil a try! The cleansing oil from shu uemura is formulated with an impressive collection of 8 botanical oils, of which aid in not only lifting impurities and makeup effortlessly, but also help in making your skin softer, hydrated, and toned after just 2 weeks of regular usage. Having never tried a cleansing oil before, I was initially concerned that this product would leave an oily residue, clog my pores, and/or make my face even more sensitive than it already is, but amazingly, the shu uemura oil did not do any of those!

Shu Uemura Ultime8∞ Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil

I received a Shu Uemura Ultime8∞ Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil sachet from @thisisbutterly @chickadvisor to try.  I reveiwed directions from the Shu Uemura website before using it:
1. take 3 to 4 pumps of cleansing oil onto the palms of hands.
2. gently massage over the dry face.
3. emulsify with a little bit of water and massage until oil turns milky.
4. rinse thoroughly with water and no need for double cleansing.
Pros: Wonderful scent! The Oil felt luxurious! It didn't have that sticky oil feel that other oil based cleansers have.  It does not foam, but rather just washes away with water, taking along dirt and make up. 
Cons: this is not supposed to dry out your skin, but my skin felt very dry and tight.  I had to hydrate it right after with a facial Serum and cream.
Overall, the scent is pleasant, the texture is luxurious, and it did a great job cleaning my face.
