little confusing

The oil doesn't have a strong smell, making it good to use. My skin felt so smooth and soft . After 6 hours too, skin looked so hydrated and soft. I have dry skin issues but after applying the oil , it just felt right . I am so happy with the product. I wish the sample would have been a little big so that i can get more results and get more accurate information. I have used the sample for one week applying limited quality. So far so good, i am satisfied.

No good

Not what I expected it to be like. I still had make up on my face after using this product. I didn't enjoy it at all. Was very disappointed with this product.

Removes stubborn makeup with ease!

This product was super effective in taking off stubborn make up. I tested it out with waterproof mascara and eyeliner with a deep red lipstick and WOW! It took only a few drops on a paper towel to take it off. One of the most effective makeup remover/cleanser I’ve used.

it was a decent product but not exceptional. It was small as a sample and did not allow for many uses to get a clear experience. Might try it again ..

Didn't like how it made my face feel after

I received a sample sachet of this product to review. Maybe part of my bad review is too focused on the sachet, but it was very messy to use an oil based product from a tiny ripped sachet. In the few days that I tested this cleansing oil, it left an oily mess all over my counter and sink that I needed to clean up because there was no bottle or pump to dispense it. Maybe using the actual bottle would be less messy.

The product itself was effective at removing makeup and dirt from my face. However, as someone with oily skin, I didn't feel fully clean after using it. My face still felt oily after using it, and it required extra rinsing and towel-drying to make my face feel clean again. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this product because I still felt greasy afterwards and because of the messiness.

Like a hug in a bottle, but for your skin!

I don’t use skincare as much as I used to and for me it boils down to two things; does it make my skin better (obviously!) and does it make me feel good. Shu Uemura’s Ultime8 Cleansing Oil ticks both those boxes for me. It has improved my skintone and texture without breakouts and I really love it!

What did surprise me is how much I enjoy the experience. I never usually ‘like’ using skincare. It’s something to help your skin and sometimes it’s nice to care for yourself, but my experience using Ultime8 was so soothing that I was shocked. Something about the sweet, slightly herbal scent makes me feel really happy and relaxed, like receiving a soothing face massage, but without the stress of having a stranger mess with your face! I can’t really explain it…I’ve just never had a scent I liked so much. Considering I’m not normally partial to herbal style scents, it was not expected. It’s just warm, nice and the perfect strength. Similarly, applying the oil also feels incredibly soothing and gentle on the skin.

The only negative for me is that I usually use Micellar Water as I prefer a no-fuss cleanser, but I enjoyed the experience of using Ultime8 Cleansing Oil so much that it actually became a lot easier for me. Instead of having to put aside the time to do a more complex cleansing, I found myself doing it earlier in the night because I wanted to feel happy and relaxed. I’ve literally never felt that way with a cleanser and didn’t even know it was possible. If it sounds like I’m praising this a little too hard, it’s because my actual experience was so unexpected and pleasant!

I’m definitely going to continue to use this cleansing oil for sure and I’ll definitely be doing it with a smile on my face!

I loved this product it made my skin so soft and felt so clean. I use this every time I take a shower. I love this so much I went a bought a big bottle.

Smooth until greasy feeling

I found my fave was so soft using this cleansing oil. The smell was a bit strong, and my boyfriend commenting on how strong it was; I didn’t mind the smell at all. 10 hours after using it my face, especially my forehead felt so greasy. I think if using long term, more than a sample pack that your skin might adjust to it. I don’t use any other products when trying this and my skin felt so soft and fresh.

Shu Uemura sublime cleansing oil

I loved using the Su Uemura sublime cleansing oil and how I felt after wards was amazing, would definitely recommend everyone use this product, it's great!!!

Effective at cleansing, strong scent

Tried this cleansing oil after a day of sunscreen and heat. It cleansed and refreshed my skin, providing much needed moisture and glow. The only downside was the scent. I personally found it a bit too strong and almost masculine. My husband actually liked it and I ended up giving it to him.
