This movie is definitely a classic ,Molly Ringwald is a great Actress .This movie was funny ,at at times dramatic ,your typical teenage love story ,the troubles of being a teenager ,not being popular, it had it all. I have watched this movie at least a dozen times ,I never get bored .I guess I liked it so much because it had a happy ending

Hilarious, well casted and great storyline. Poor Molly Ringwald is the poor forgotten sister and plays the part with the perfect amount of teenage angst.

This movie is super funny. I really like Long Duk Dong in the movie which is one of the characters that is played in the movie, made me laugh super hard. This movie is about a girl who's parents who forgot her birthday and the family also has to do deal with another daughter getting married. The girl who is turning 16 gets to know a guy and he ends up liking her and goes through a lot to tell her. This movie is a fun family film. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it. A really good comedy film that has so much going on.

What do you think, have you seen it?

With the occasion all but overshadowed by her sister's upcoming wedding, angst-ridden Samantha (Molly Ringwald) faces her 16th birthday with typical adolescent dread. Samantha pines for studly older boy Jake (Michael Schoeffling), but worries that her chastity will be a turnoff for the popular senior. Meanwhile, Samantha must constantly rebuff the affections of nerdy Ted (Anthony Michael Hall), the only boy in the school, unfortunately, who seems to take an interest in her.

When Samantha's sister gets married on her 16th birthday her family completely forgets her special day. Life is in love with a popular senior and thinks that there's no hope for her. Everyone is trying to find out something about someone and will the truth be finally shared with the right people? A funny and romantic movie about first love.
