Makes your skin feel amazing

Hubby has combination skin. He has been using this for a month. It’s amazing. It’s like magic. He had no irritation or skin reaction to it. I noticed it helped with his redness and helped hydrate his skin. It is the consistency of water, with a very light, almost indiscernible smell.

Although it's definitely on the expensive side, overall this is a good product. Hubby still wants to keep using it and see its long term effect.

Best essence ever

I truly love this essence. It makes my skin feel absolutely amazing and clean after using it. It also makes my skin smooth and soft feeling. I also feel like it helps with my mild breakouts around that time of the month. But the down fall is the price of it is INSANE. But I'm a firm believer that you pay for what you get and it works. So I do think it's worth it but still steep. I'd totally recommend this product. I find my on the mercari app so it's a tad be less expensive.

Believe the hype!

I used SK-II facial treatment essence religiously in my twenties for my problem/combo skin. It really healed my acne scars, cleared up some of my pores, and improved the clarity, texture, and smoothness of my skin. i didn't see or feel the need to use any other facial product like lotion, only some sun protection. Now in my thirties I've been using La Mer and other products on rotation, but still think this product is amazing and so worth every buck.

Beware of the smell

The product itself is great, it worked on my combo skin in terms of balancing and soothing blemishes. The scent of this product, however, makes me feel like i'm putting dog spit on my face. The smell doesn't last long, probably just a few seconds. I recommend you hold you breath when putting this on.

Tried a sample and left wanting more!

I've known about SK-II for a very long time being Asian and into skincare products. However the cost has also inhibited me from purchasing my very own bottle of this holy grail product.
Recently got a sample from Sephora and decided that it's time to pamper myself and test the little bad boy out. Wow I was certainly left wanting more!
Since using the Facial Treatment Essence in my night time routine after cleansing and the Blue Tansy mask I feel my skin has gotten so much more clear and moist and plump.
Would highly recommend!

Not worth the hype

I had been wanting to try this product after reading numerous online articles about how great it was. I found it at winners one day with the lotion for half the price it usually is as I wouldn’t splurge on something I wasn’t sure that didn’t work for me ultimately. After using it for sometime I didn’t notice much difference in my skin. It feels nice on your face when first applied but dries very quickly and hasn’t help in a moisturizing sense for me at all combined with the lotion. I wouldn’t purchase it again, but I’m glad to have been able to test it out at the end of the day for a lesser price than what Sephora sells it for.

oh the smell!

Most comments were negative for the smell. Beyond that, I purchased this item in Tokyo (cheaper!), placed in a spray bottle and it goes a long way. My skin became brighter after 2 weeks.

So I decided that it SK-II works for Cate Blanchette, it just might work for me. I found a three piece set at Sephora that included toner, the facial essence, and a mask. For some reason, it looks as if SK-II products are no longer available in Canada through Sephora? Weird!

First I decided to try the mask. I noticed immediate improvement in my skin. It was softer, and somehow the quality of my skin felt and looked more refined (smaller, less visible pores). I would definitely consider the mask for a special occasion.

Next the toner and the Facial Treatment Essence. The toner is 'meh.' It really didn't feel any different than the micellar water that I use. Certainly not a game changer.

But the Essence... The Holy Grail Product that so many beauty addicts refer to? I have been using the Facial Treatment Essence for 2 weeks now, and my skin has never looked or felt better.

I am 43 (aging skin with oiliness in the t-zone). My skin feels much more balanced with SK-II... no more mid-day oil slick. My skin tone is much more even, and feels moisturized but not greasy. My pores appear smaller, and I haven't had the patchy dryness that I sometimes get between my eyebrows.

It would be an ideal product, aside from a few issues:

1) Unfortunately there is no way I can continue to feed my children and use SK-II. It's incredibly expensive and once I have run out of this product, I will have a tough decision to make.... buy more... or sell a dependant?

2) I spent 2 days at the cottage without the Facial Treatment Essence and in that short time of stopping use, I had tons of tiny whitehead appearing around my nose and chin. Two days later with regular use and that problem has completely resolved. I am afraid of what will happen if I stop using this stuff!

Sadly, (because I cannot afford SK-II!) I really love this product. I don't really know why it works so well. Paula Begoun, my guru of beauty product reviews tells me there is no science backing this product... and essentially it is quackery, but my results have been really great. Please Maude, let me win the lottery so I can continue using SK-II! I would absolutely love to try more products from this line but not in my current income bracket!

I use all of SK-II products and love them. But, this one is terrible. Its basically just putting water on your face and waiting for it to dry. Ive been using this product for about 6 months now and have not noticed a difference. Just using it up while it lasts. The good thing about this products is that it lasts for a long time!
