The price is decent; however, it definitely has a "diet flavor to it". It is more like ice milk than ice cream. But if your buying skinny cow, chances are you are looking for a diet product. Might as well buy some real ice cream and have a small amount rather than wasting your money on a product that will leave you unsatisfied. Does not kill the "ice cream craving".
While the actual product tastes good, I end up eating more than I should (like 3 bars) because I somehow convince myself it's "diet" so I usually just buy regular ice cream and apply portion control.
What can I say? I can't just have one. Ever.
I have been looking for low fat ice cream that tastes good, I mean, it's ice cream so taste is most important. I saw the Skinny Cow ice creams in the freezer section at markets several times. I was tempted to try them but I figured good tasting low fat ice cream is an oxymoron. It just doesn't work. I decided to take a chance on the ice cream sandwiches and I was pretty surprised. These actually taste okay. If you want a real great tasting ice cream sandwich that is fantastic, then this may not fulfill that need, but for a lower fat treat that tastes good, then the Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches are a pretty good choice.
I tried Skinny Cow ice cream a few years ago and hated it. It tasted like 'diet' food at that time.
Since they have redone their recipe, it is amazing! My favourite type right now is the chocolate ice cream sandwich. YUMMY!
While it is an amazing product, I still believe it is over priced. Unfortunately, with being one of the only types of specialty low fat/low calorie ice cream products out there, there isn't really a tasty alternative.
