I wouldn't use the Slimfast plan to lose weight because it really isn't enough food or very healthy. But, I do like to get the vanilla powder or drinks to use more as a supplement. I had it when I had my wisdom teeth out, when sick, when I wanted to get a snack on the run at the college convenience store, etc. I like the vanilla.
I started using the Slim Fast Powder more as a breakfast meal replacement because I figured I'd at least get something in! It does have a lot of lot of the vitamins you need, but it's pretty high on carbohydrates and sodium! I do find that it does fill me up and acts as a diuretic in the morning for me. I drink the creamy chocolate with 2% lactose milk!
I really like the Chocolatey Royale flavour and it reminds me of making chocolate milk as a kid. This is a sweet shake and even with 2% milk, it is 260 calories which is a decent start to my day. What I liked about it is that it is meant as a meal replacement - so it has a decent balance of proteins, carbs and fats to get my day going. What I don't love is the aspartame in it and the amount of sodium. However, on the go, I still never miss my breakfast when I have a shake. I used to just stir it, but now I blend it - and its easy to add berries etc for some extra taste and nutrition.
I have never been able to eat breakfast, so after a serious discussion with a nutritionist about lack of protein in my day until evening, I decided to try meal-replacement shakes. I started with an 'instant breakfast' one, but after a while realized how much sugar and calories it had. This is a big improvement because its meant as a weight reduction system. Can't say I lost weight because I was adding food into my day.
