SmartBurner...not quite for me

We had high hopes for this, especially the part that states no chance of food falling between the coils. Duh, that's because it's solid. When the pot boils over, the food goes all around the base instead, leaving a nice mess to clean up. You really have to work out which heat works best for you, because it will boil over before you know it. The burner surface also retains too much heat for too long once the unit is shut off. Once you do spill on it, the spills are not easily/completely removed. Good thing we kept the old ones. By the way, we've given them well over a year to prove the value.
