Make-up base magic

I used to suffer horrendous breakouts of inflammatory, red acne and I had read in a skincare leaflet that to properly conceal the redness in spots you had to use a green make-up base. At the time I didn't know about colours neutralising other tones and such a thing was then only the reserve of a professional make-up artist. Luckily my spots cleared up but I am glad there are now a lot more colour correction options out there for people with similar skin concerns. Smashbox Colour Correcting Primer has been developed with LA's make-up artists to address areas of imperfection on the complexion - green tones neutralise redness in acne and rosacea, Purple tone is great for yellowness and the yellow tone is excellent for deep dark under eye circles.

This stuff is magic

A friend gave me her tube of this stuff, she didn’t like it but I LOVE it. I have red tone skin especially on my nose. I use this stuff daily even if I’m not putting a foundation on top. It applies smoothly and definitely tones down the redness.

I like it but...

This has been my primer for a long time now. It makes my redness disappear after a few minutes of applying it, which is what I was looking for. I am not too fond of the texture or scent though, but I'm happy to use it as it's effective.

Best product of its type I've tried so far!

This is a wonderful primer that I actually bought by accident the first time. My usual brand of color correction was sold out, and the cosmetician recommended this; as I was buying several other items, I had no idea what I had paid until I got home and looked at my receipt. It was three times the price of my usual brand...but boy of boy, is it worth it!! It goes on very silky, and the amount you use is much less than comparable products. The two biggest pluses for me? One: I found that it noticeably extended the life of my day's makeup - and Two: that I could actually get away with just applying a sheer layer of this primer and not wear ANY foundation! It's now become a staple of my daily makeup routine - definitely worth the extra dollars.

I got this in a beity subscription and fell in love it worked so well for me and lived up to its expectations which smashbox always does for me! Its light weight!

Stay fresh all day !

I love the Smashbox line, expecially for priming.
This was reasonably priced ($30) for the brand name of course, and kept my makeup looking fresh all day.
You essentially put the primer on first, then your makeup and I like to finish with a setting spray. Perfect!

A makeup game changer

I have really fair, sensitive skin with red undertones. For years I couldn't get that airbrushed, flawless look, and I felt too much color came through. That all vanished the moment I discovered Smashbox photo finishing color correcting primer, in green.

I mix this in with my IT Cosmetics foundation, and the result is phenomenal. It's velvety smooth, and it gives the perfect amount of correction, making my skin look fabulous and, for the first time ever, not ruddy! I'm so happy with this product. I've been using it for years and can't live without it now. I can't recommend it enough!

Whether I have a blemish or dark circles, this is my go to product!

I have mild rosacea and this primer is great for keeping my redness to a minimum. I've tried other primers in the past (ie: too faced, hourglass, etc.) but I always come back to this one. A little goes a long way so I think its definitely worth the money ! If you buy the mini size (at Sephora), it is $20 for 15 mL where the full size is $50 for 30 mL. You actually save by getting the smaller version and it's perfect for travel !!
