I was recommended this foundation by the salesperson in store, it is pretty pricy but I decided to give it a shot. Wow ! It feels to light on your skin you don't feel like wearing make up but still covers everything up ! I've had it for 4 months and used half of it ( I use daily) so it's defineteley worth the money
I recently went to Sephora to purchase a Lancome foundation but had a mini makeover done first and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the Smashbox foundation better so I bought it. I love it! It feels so lightweight I forget I'm wearing it, offers the medium to full coverage that I need, comes in a glass bottle with a pump, lasts on my skin all day, keeps my skin looking and feeling great, and was $20 cheaper than the Lancome foundation. Amazing shade selection too and Smashbox is cruelty free!
I used to love this foundation, but I first used it when it was really hot outside. Now that it's the winter and I'm going from -20 to a bus that has the heat on high all the way to college. Going from one extreme to the next has made this foundation end up looking weird and somewhat cakey on my face. I have oily skin and large pores and right around my largest pores (even though I wear a primer) it settles in and looks REALLY obvious that I'm wearing makeup.
My FAVOURITE foundation.
I'm an extremely oily skin type so I have a very hard time finding products that do not melt off my nose. This is one of the few that are tried and true for me. Insane staying power and great full, yet natural looking, coverage. Lost half a star because there is a weird jump in colour between 1.2 and 2.1 that I fall into throughout parts of the year. Also because it doesn't mattify my skin as much as claimed so I still need to use an anti-shine with this product.
I have been using this foundation for a few years now, and I'm extremely happy with the quality of the product. It offers a great amount of coverage, never looks cakey on my skin, and lasts for hours! I really love the brand Smashbox too because of the fact that they're cruelty free. I also really like that the shade 1.1 is a perfect match for my skin tone -- sometimes I have had trouble finding other matches for it in the past, perhaps because I have a unique combination of ethnicities. It can be really frustrating to not be able to find your perfect shade, so I've stuck with this foundation/brand for awhile now because it does match so nicely and it's a great foundation in general. The major downfall, though, is the price. One small bottle does last me for months, however, since it's a higher end brand it's a lot to shell out each time I have to repurchase it. For now I'll continue buying it because I do like it a lot, but I would love it if I were able to find a cheaper foundation that's cruelty free and offers many of the same pros.
I have used this foundation for almost 2 years now. It is by far my favourite foundation and I'll explain the pros and cons. The pros are that it stays on literally 15 hours, I may touch it up with some powder/bronzer but besides that it stays on a long time. It doesn't look "caked on" (i'd rather a natural look) and it doesn't make my skin look so oily. However keep in mind I put on a moisturizer/primer before and I use another product for coverup on the odd spot. The con is of course the price as I have a hard time paying $40 on foundation but its been well worth it the past couple years. I first bought it at Sephora, but since there is not a Sephora where I live, I purchase it at Shoppers Drug Mart (although some do not carry it). This product also lasts me 3-4 months as opposed to the cheaper foundations that I had to buy monthly.
