I'm a little embarrassed to admit, I had not ever invested in proper makeup hardware. For all these years I've been making do with the little spongy applicators that come in the compacts, and for certain jobs they do the trick just fine.

I received the Smashbox set to review recently and now know what I was missing out on. This cute and practical little case comes with 5 brushes: angled blush, shadow blending, concealer, angled liner, and pencil brush. The case itself is reasonably sturdy and will lend itself well to the squashy conditions of my makeup drawer. The brushes are soft and deliver perfect results.

Late to the party, but pleased all the same. A great kit that I highly recommend!
