I used to use hair removal creams and then I switched to shaving and thennn I discovered these smooth away pads. If you've got extra time on your hands or are scared of razors or something, go ahead and use these. They do work. I've used them on my cheeks/upper lip and the hair was removed nicely - it did leave my skin a little irritated but the redness goes down after a while. The hair doesn't grow back any thicker. But in the end, I choose shaving instead because it's quicker. The results from using the Smooth Away pads last only a bit longer than shaving but it takes much longer to buff away all the hair so...
This is a hair-buffing pad with superfine crystals which looks odd but it did get rid of my stubble and it was pretty painlessly too.
I wanted to try this product for a while but my skepticism always overruled. I found this on sale at my local grocery store for half price and decided to give it a try.
First of all, the instructions say that this only works on dry hair that is less than 1/4". You have to work in circular motion, 3 times clockwise, 3 times counter clockwise, until the hair is removed. I think this works best on leg stubble. It allows you to prolong the time between shaves, but unless you're trying to use your razor for longer, it's probably easier to just shave. If you want to use it anywhere else, such as arms, I suggest you shave your arms first and start using it on the regrowth.
I also tried this on my upperlip, which worked after a lot of vigorous rubbing. Ow. It removed the fine hairs, but the area was a little sore and red for a little while. Probably shouldn't try that again!
Overall, the product does work to an extent. It somewhat removes unwanted hair, but it definitely exfoliates your skin to silky smooth!
I never buy the "as seen on TV" things, they always seem way too good to be true. However, I was in the Showcase store at the mall and noticed the Smooth Legs item which I had seen previously on TV and of course was skeptical. However, the girl at the store allowed me to try before I buy, which I did, and I thought to myself--WOW! I could not believe it! It was seriously just like buffing away the hair on your legs with a buffing pad. It does leave your skin "white" and dusty looking, however, it is just your dead skin from the buffing and so some moisturizer or lotion right after does the trick. No nicks/cuts or ingrown hairs!
