Ok Concept, But Poorly Done
This game looks great on advertisements and on the box it comes in, but the reality isn't quite so fun. The suspense builds really well and the kids love it, but then the spray happens and it is little more than a trickle. Disappointing, but it is easy enough to understand for younger kids to play as well, so that is a point in its favor.
Not impressed
Got it for my daughter for Christmas and we played it once. When you add the water it is messy and then when the dog shakes it's more like drips. Not happy.
I guess
It was just a game my boys played once then it got put on the back burner and by back burner I mean it went right to the closet in the box till next year lol
one time gift
My niece received this game for Christmas. It was something my son wanted but I'm so glad I never bought it for him. The amount of clean up is not worth it. You have to completely dry the toy before putting it away so it doesn't gather mold.
Would not recommend
My daughter was so excited about this product for Christmas until it was put together. The product we bought didn’t work. We tried putting it together so many times and the soggy doggy still wouldn’t move around. It was a huge disappointment. I don’t recommend this toy to any of my mom friends.
My kids love it but I would make a few adjustments
My kids were excited about this from the day that it landed on our doorstep. The game play is pretty simple and fun. It encourages, turn taking, good sportsmanship and lots of laughter. My kids think it is great, love the surprise aspect and ask to play it often, although they wish there was more to the wetness.
Improvements from mom's view:
-off and on should be more clearly marked. the line represents closed or off in my kids minds and the O represents open or on....but it is opposite on this game. (we went around the circle a few times before we realized it was not on.
-the turning of the knob is not clear on the direction. Young kids do not understand turning against the resistance. This could easily be fixed with a directional arrow printed on the knob.
- the wet spray on the shaking could be more intense. It never actually sprays water all over the players. I don't know the remedy for this but as it stands now it is just more work for mom when the game ends to pick up and dry out all of the pieces. This would be worth it if the kids actually got wet like they were hoping.
When I got the soggy soggy game to try out, I was very happy to try it out and I surprised my kids saying that we were going to play a new game I got to try out. My kids are ages 7 and 9 and both girls.
We put a table in our noncarpeted area downstairs because it said it would be messy.
We set it up and then I put the new batteries in. I mean I just opened the pack. We were ready to play but when I put the power button on, nothing happened so I put other batteries and they finally worked. Anyways, at this time they were getting annoyed with the game and were playing in the other room. I told them it was working and they were happy. So we were playing the game and my younges’s se one try and the dog shook. She didn’t get wet like she wanted to but the table got wet. We played two games and then it was time for them to sleep. They forgot about the game after that and haven’t asked to play it again. I wouldn’t pay for this game and wouldn’t play it again unleashing as my kids play it. The dog kept getting hair in its hair too and it was annoying. I think I was expecting more from the game but was really disappointed.
It’s great for younger kids
This game is fun and is most certainly for a younger crowd of kids. Ages younger than 8 years old. It’s not a game for older teens or adults. The set up is easy and it’s not a big splash / squirt a big amount of water. It’s just enough to add fun to the game.
Fun game to play
Prior to receiving this game, I had never heard of it. I received this game for free and tried it shortly after I received it. I played it with some friends and I think we all liked it. Our favorite thing was when we got wet. I liked the colors too.
Set up was okay too. After I have played it a few more times, I'll probably teach others how to play too. Spinmaster puts out fun games. I would probably recommend it to friends.
Not bad
It's definitely more for smaller children, not teens or adults. Some pieces are small ,but overall its a cute concept. Not time consuming or hard to set up, so that's a plus. A great buy for young children.
