Emily Griffin writes some of the best chick-lit that is out there these days. Honestly, I went in HATING the main character from the previous book, thinking that I would feel the same way until the end.

I loved this book and I will be rereading it again and again!

Note: must read Something Borrowed first!!!!!

This has to be my favorite Emily Giffin novel (so far - am still working my way through). It's a companion book to her previous "Something Borrowed" - the same story told from two different perspectives, although the main plot in this story is set a few months later. There are some spoilers relating to "Borrowed", so be sure to read it first.

It's the perspective of the selfish BFF who has spent her life trampling on her friends to get what she wants.... until suddenly she can't. Alone and pregnant, she must come to terms with her situation and face her flaws. Her journey to 'become a better person' might have you groaning before you crack the book open, but her story is told in an authentic and touching way. Predictable plot? Maybe. But well worth the read anyway.

    I recommend it!

I tend to read chick-lit to relax instead of always watching TV but I also tend to be picky about my chick-lit (normally opting for British authors). So when I friend of mine suggested that I try giving American author Emily Giffin a try, I was a bit hesitant. After a lot of convincing I decided to give Emily Giffin's Something Blue a read to see what I thought. I have to say that I really really liked this book. Emily Giffin's writing style is fast, well-paced and attractive, and she simultaneously manages to build interesting and complex characters. This is the story of a superficial Manhattan princess who ends up losing her fiance to her best friend...you can't feel sorry for her though because she is having an affair of her own. This book has us cheering for a person whom we originally despised as she discovers friendship, love and her happy ending after seemingly losing it all... I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading it's sister book Something Borrowed.
