Sony Bravia KDL V3000 LCD TV Reviews
#476 in Electronics

Description

BRAVIA V-Series televisions are where Full HD 1080 starts. Two sizes, 46" and 40" diagonally, define what Full HD 1080 (1920 x 1080) televisions are all about. Performance functions like Live Color Creation (featuring the WCG-CCFL backlight) and the 10-bit panel display assure picture quality and performance. The BRAVIA Engine¿ EX full digital video processing system includes DRC-MF v1.0 technology, which upconverts 480i video signals to a 1080p equivalent. DMeX ¿ ready allows connection to the new DMeX (Digital Module Expander) called the BRAVIA Internet Video Link module. And BRAVIA V-Series TVs are big on ease of operation. BRAVIA¿ Theatre Sync offers one-button command for time consuming control functions and signal path routing. And we didn't forget about connectivity. How about two 1080/24p and 1080/60p input capable HDMI connections, two HD Component YPbPr inputs, and a PC input, just to name a few. Add a sparkling new black picture frame design, quiet operation, and you have BRAVIA V-Series HD LCD TVs.

This television is amazing. The hubby convinced me we should spring for it. We got it about 2 weeks ago at Sears for about $1650 including taxes. It has since been reduced even further and I think you can get it for around $1500. It is also available on Amazon for that price, which includes shipping. This TV kept me great company when I was sick for a week shortly after we bought it. The picture is beautiful and vibrant and the remote control is easy to operate. Ease of use is really important to me as I hate wasting time reading instruction manuals.

Since we generally only rent movies and rarely veg out in front of the tube, we've never invested in cable. The tuner on this TV is way better than my old one and we are able to pick up about 3 times as many channels as before - including HD ones! I couldn't believe it when I started flipping around and realized how many channels we now have. Despite the fact that it is bigger than our old 20something incher, it takes up less space because it is so thin. It can also be wall mounted.

We got the 1080 dpi. Don't bother getting 720 as you'll only save a little and in the end you'll need to upgrade as the 1080 will be the most compatible. Especially if you'd like to keep your TV for at least 5 years.

I'm really happy with this purchase and feel like I'm getting the full theatre experience when I watch movies at home - sans the joy of having someone kicking the back of my seat or talking loudly throughout.

If you're considering getting a flat screen, this is a great bet.
