I received Special K Popcorn Chips free to test for the Product Review Club. I received the 2 flavours: Butter and Sweet & Salty. The butter flavour was very artificial tasting and seemed like it had a powdery coating all over the chip. The crunch was very nice, but the flavour was less like butter and more like a very artificial tasting cheese product. I did not enjoy these at all and would not recommend them to anyone. The sweet & salty flavour, on the other hand, was again very crunchy and had a lightly sweetened flavour. I have always enjoyed kettle popcorn and this reminded me of that. I do not add salt to my foods, and sometimes find salty snacks too salty. The Special K Popcorn Chips sweet and salty flavour, however, were not too salty, but just right for me. I would recommend this flavour as an alternative to chips or crackers, and especially for those trying to watch their caloric intake. I will buy these again when I'm looking for a crunchy snack that is low in calories.

I was able to try out the new Special K Popcorn Chips for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club – sent to me where the Sweet and Salty and the Classic Butter flavor. At first I wasn't super sold on the taste of the Popcorn chips and found them to be a bit artificial tasting but then I found myself unable to stop eating them as they were satisfyingly crunchy – the fact that they are low calorie and relatively healthy helped too. They taste quite a bit like flavored rice cakes so not bad for some mindless snacking while watching TV. For a healthy snack alternative I think it is a good product and I would probably purchase it again – I preferred the Classic Butter flavor over the Sweet and Salty flavor.

The cracker chips were very tasty, flavourful. More variety would be great, possibly a few more chips per box. These are a great light snack and didn't hinder my children's appetites after school. Both my girls loved them in their lunches or on their own. My oldest added some to her tomato soup and found it gave it a nice 'kick'.

I decided to test this product while watching Breaking Bad. I tried the butter flavour first. To be honest, I was really disappointed with this one. It has the "Crunch" factor like a chip with the popcorn taste. However, butter flavour was not to my liking. It really has that artificial taste. Then I tried the Sweet and Salty Flavour. Wow, what a huge difference in taste. I really enjoyed this one.

Compare to other product, this is a great snack option especially if you are try to watch your calories intake.

I would recommend Special K popcorn Chips to friends!

I had an opportunity to try and review the Sweet and Salty and the Butter Special K® Popcorn Chips. I received this product free to test. All opinions are 100% mine.

Pros
The chips had a definite plus on crunchy factor. They really are similar to popcorn in the texture, but are more satisfying since they are larger in size. Although there was a flavoured powder coating the chip, I did not find that it left residue on my fingers which was a definite plus on the no-mess side of eating.

The Sweet and Salty Special K® Popcorn Chips were amazing. They really satisfied both sides of cravings as it was neither overly sweet nor overly salty. There are only 80 calories per 20 chips. I found 20 chips to be a nice portion, and definitely did not feel guilty while snacking!

Cons
The Butter version of the chips had more of an artificial taste. I was disappointed in the flavour as compared to the excellence of the Sweet and Salty version which I had tried first. My boyfriend tried the Sweet and Salty chips as well and commented that they tasted stale (I disagreed and finished the box myself!).

Summary
I would absolutely recommend Special K® Popcorn Chips to anyone who is looking for a great snack option. I preferred the Sweet and Salty version, but the Butter popcorn chips really do taste quite similar to popcorn if that is a taste that you are craving. I am actually going to be buying more of the Sweet and Salty popcorn chips on my next grocery run. They are THAT good!

I like both popcorn chips because it's tasty and crispy enough but low in calorie. Though my hobby is on diet, I still give him a try...lol, he loves the taste (not salty) comparing with other brand.

I got to try these as part of the Product Review Club. My husband and I decided to eat these one night watching hockey, instead of our usual bag of chips. I found the butter flavour pretty good, even though I don't like popcorn. They almost tasted a little like a rice cake to me. My husband wasn't too fond of them though. He would prefer chips. My 2 year old really liked them and I give them to him as a healthy snack all the time; especially when his dad sits down to eat chips

Our 10 year old was the first one to try the sweet & salty and quickly proclaimed them the best crackers ever - she even closed her eyes (always a good sign! lol). My husband and I really liked them too, very fresh and not overly laden with seasoning. For these reasons and that they are so low calorie, I foresee purchasing a lot of them in future!

The sweet and salty popcorn chips were not my favourite, but the butter ones were delicious. Great for a healthy snack especially because it is low calorie. My only complaint is how fast they go stale. I opened them and within 3 days, they were horribly stale and I could not eat them.

I received my free samples of special k popcorn chipsto review and was so exited about them...I LOVED the butter flavored one and did buy more plus talked to all my friend about it. For the sweet and salty flavor i did not like it at all, trew it out. I loved the fact that they where crispy and small. The price is ok and i am exited that there are some coupons out there for them!!!!
