I have problem skin and have heard others talk about Spectro and its effectiveness. This product didn't work for me at all and only came in quite a large bottle, so I have a lot left over. I wouldn't use it again, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work for someone else.
The product is gentle on my sensitive skin yet gently cleanses my face effectively. It is unscented. It does not "suds" up like other cleansers. My skin feels moisturized after washing with spectro derm. The cleanser lasts for quite some time. You do not have to use a lot of product for it to clean effectively. The price varies from store to store. If you are a savvy shopper, check prices. It is worth it to compare.
I love this cleanser. It's the only one on the market that does not sting my eyes. It is gentle, non-drying, fragrance free.
This product was actually recommeded by my dermatologist because it is so gentle on the face. When you look at the actual product, it doesnt look like much - it literally looks like gel. When you apply it and wash it off, it really feels like your washing your face. You definately won't see the results instantly but it has become part of my daily routine. I've used this for several months now and I can confidently say that I can walk out of my house without any face products because of how clear my skin looks.
I purchased the unscented formula for dry skin when it was on sale, thinking I would give it a shot over the Cetaphil cleanser I normally buy. I definitely regret my purchase - though it claims to be unscented, it smells terrible and the texture is goopy and unpleasant. It's also hard to rinse off your skin. It may be as effective as any other cleanser, but I can't get over the smell and texture. Would not buy again.
I have the oily T zone and my dermatologist recommended this product. I have used it for at least 10 years and it wasn't popular when I first started using it. It was expensive but the price has not changed in years and now it is comparable to other effective skin cleansers. It does not dry out your skin and is an effective cleaner. I have never used moisturizers and still get compliments on my skin.
If you have sensitive skin, this is the product for you. It is not harsh on your face, it helps with pimple control and leaves your skin fealing soft
some reviews claim that spectro derm has a bad smell, but it doesn't. well atleast i didn't think so. and it wasn't too expensive, as you can pick it up at any drug store.
anyways i was initially skeptical about buying spectro derm, because well first off i was scared that a cleanser for a dry face would be really greasy and oily and cause my skin to break out. however, it didn't! i went for it and picked up a 200 mL of spectro derm and it works great!
i have pretty dry skin, and i had some dry patches, and i've been using spectro derm for about a week now and the dry patches are gone and my face is not as dry as it was before. i, do however still moisturize but the spectro derm seems to have cleared up the dry skin. it's pretty good in removing makeup as well. i don't have acne, i get the occasional pimple or blemish, but i don't think there are many products that can totally eliminate that. my concern was that my face was dry and looked bland (ie. no glow).
before using spectro derm, i used cetaphil (which worked well too, but i found that my skin was still as dry as usual). i like both products, but spectro derm has more of a moisturizing effect. cetaphil doesn't dry out your skin, but it doesn't really moisturize it either. if you've got normal skin with the occasional break outs and are just looking for a simple cleanser, i'd recommend cetaphil. otherwise, if you have dry skin, spectro derm is awesome. and i've heard most other spectro products work well if you have acne or oily skin.
