I don't like this product. I find it doesn't suds up at all, so it doesn't effectively clean my skin. My skin still feels greasy after use. It doesn't feel clean at all.
This barely worked, and maybe if your skin is really sensitive with mild breakouts it might be okay but otherwise it was just really watery soap.
I have used Spectro Jel for a long time on and off. It is a mild cleanser that is meant for blemish prone skin. It has a light scent that is sure to not affect sensitive noses. This product is great for removing makeup... put some on a tissue and then rub it over your face and neck. I like that it does not clog pores as well.
I used this throughout the length of my teenage acne years. During that time I didn't really like it, I didn't feel like it was doing anything. Since it was part of my dermatologist's regime I kept with it. I strayed away from this cleanser as I got older until this summer my face just totally flared up with acne and eczema. I bought cetaphil but I heard it was similar to spectro jel, very gentle. It totally cleared up my skin, both the acne and eczema within a couple days. I was amazed!
I switched back to spectro jel and so far I feel it was the same as cetaphil. I prefer spectro jel over cetaphil just because of the price, spectro jel is slightly cheaper. This is the only reason it is my holy grail, both work exactly the same for me.
The key to making this work for me was using it dry. Not wetting my hands or face, just massaging the product by itself into my face then rinsing it off. My face feels clean without any tightness. i was using it "wet" throughout my teenage years and never got that feeling of "clean" I guess the water was diluting it too much.
This will be the only cleanser I was will purchasing from now on (or cetaphil, whichever one is cheapest at the time I need to replenish!)
This stuff is great for sensitive skin as well as dry skin. Even my doctor recommended it. Also, since it is so mild it's a great cleanser to use for new tattoos and piercings.
I love Spectroderm for dry skin. It cleans my skin, doesn't burn my eyes and leaves my skin ready for night cream. It lasts a long time and is on sale often.
My skin has been acting up a lot so far this winter and it's quite dry so I decided to change up my routine a little and try something milder. I'm definitely going to stick it out with this product over the coming months, it's cleared up my skin and left it considerably smoother and moisturized. A little also goes a long way.
I have sensitive breakout prone skin which is also very dry and flaky. I purchased this product because it said it was effective for acne as well as sensitive skin. Well let me tell you it made my skin even worse. It felt like my skin didnt even come clean when I had a little makeup on plus it irritated it and made the dryness worse.
I do have sensitive skin so I gave this a try.It is supposed to be unscented but it smells horrible.I actually thought I bought a bad batch. It has a horrible runny texture to it and it didn't work at all for me.My face didn't feel like it was getting clean at all and I started breaking out.I wont buy this product again, there are so many other better products out there for sensitive skin
