Way Too rough on the skin
the particles are too large and if not careful can cause microtears in your skin
i used to use this a way long time ago -
but you get what you pay for - when it comes to skincare
I have to say that I felt that this product wasn't the best in exfoliating my skin. It also felt a bit too harsh of a scrub to use every other day or even once a week. I prefer gentler scrubs that feel more like tiny pebbles rather than grainy sand, which is what this product feels like.
When I worked at shoppers drug mart this was one of the most commonly sold scrubs so I gave it a shot. I found it to be too harsh. It did make me feel clean after but it also felt like I stripped the entire top layer of my skin. I prefer to use a more gentle exfoliatior on my face. Preferably a clay product.
I actually used this on my feet instead of my face found it to be a lot grainy-er than I thought. But it was lovely smelling and did the job.
I love this scrub and its mostly natural ingredients. It cant irritate my dry skin type though.
I wish I could say something positive about St. Ives products but I just can't. I've tried their body washes, facial cleanser and this facial scrub but they all tend to dry out my skin. I guess their products are not for sensitive and dry skin.
Now, I've tried many exfoliant. For this one, in particular, I consider that the grains of sand that are in it are a little too big and tough on the skin. For sensitive skin, I would recommend a product with smoother and smaller grains in it. The smell is also very strong, but it depends if you like that or not. For me, I like products that are gentle on the skin, and slightly and freshly perfumed.
I heard so many amazing things about this product. I wish it did work for me because it smells so good and feels so good! The apricot pieces were too rough on my skin causing larger pores. My acne got worse and only began to better when I gave up trying to use this product. Great for those who are able to use it! St. Ives has many amazing products.
I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone with relatively sensitive skin. It caused my face to break out, and definitely not recommend for the removal of make up.
